I realized Copilot Cowork shows you something Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work still don’t surface in their desktop experiences:

Run it and you get the approximate credit consumption for that task.

That is HUGE.

People see 2,000 credits and immediately scream:

“Copilot Cowork charged $20 for one task!”

Then they run equally heavy work in Claude or ChatGPT and get no cumulative task total. Context. Reasoning. Retrieval. Tools. Subagents. All consumed. No visible meter.

Microsoft’s own 125-run benchmark found Copilot Cowork averaged 30-40% cheaper than Claude Cowork when both used Opus 4.8.

The platform showing you the number shouldn’t automatically be called the expensive one.

Give us /cost in EVERY desktop agent.
