Absolutely no Championship club cared when they were almost guaranteed six points this season.
At no point did Wednesday’s troubles give them a financial or competitive advantage.
No club has ever failed to pay 25p in the pound since the rule was introduced in 2015, so no club has ever faced this punishment.
Storch can’t help that his predecessor was an absolute clown.
The only alternative to this deal was Sheffield Wednesday going out of existence.

🗣️ "I'm very sincere when I say the fans own this club. We will be the custodians and partners to the fans as we look to bring hope back"
With the takeover close, this was David Storch's view on his vision for Sheffield Wednesday #SWFC

🚨Understand that only a few hours stand between Sheffield Wednesday and its new start
Takeover by US consortium Arise at paperwork stage - there's lots of it. Lawyers have worked through night.

The man who wants to rescue Sheffield Wednesday, American businessman David Storch, says he has been “informed that a 15-point penalty is set to be imposed at the start of next season” in League One. The outgoing owner Dejphon Chansiri should hang his head in shame at the damage he has inflicted on Sheffield Wednesday. He can’t have a conscience. Otherwise he’d accept a compromise on bid price.
The EFL should have been tougher with Chansiri quicker. The FA should remember it is supposed to be custodians of the game and protect clubs. The importance of an Independent Football Regulator, much delayed by vested interests, is highlighted again by events at Wednesday.
At the moment, the people being punished at Wednesday are fans, players, staff and the man who wants to save them. Shameful situation engulfing a historic club which could have been avoided with stronger leadership by the authorities. And Chansiri locating some principles. #SWFC
36 - Today was a 36th consecutive winless game for Sheffield Wednesday in all competitions, equalling the all-time record winless run by a team since the Football League was formed in 1888, set by Derby between September 2007 and August 2008. Bleak.
SWFC Negatives…
23 league games without a win.
20 league defeats this season.
17 home league games without a win.
7 home goals scored since August — scientists are studying how that’s even possible.
1 home league win in 24 games.
1 league win all season.
0 goals in the last 8 games — the net has filed a missing persons report.
Relegation no longer a threat, more of a scheduled appointment.
SWFC Positives…
Only 17 defeats left until we’re mathematically freed from this mortal suffering…
Sheffield Wednesday’s players who’ve left in the last 6 months (including impending moves):
James Beadle, Josh Windass, Barry Bannan, Callum Paterson, Ben Hamer, Anthony Musaba, Djeidi Gassama, Shea Charles, Joey Phuthi, Pol Valentín, Marvin Johnson, Ibrahim Cissoko, Michael Ihiekwe, Akin Famewo, Michael Smith, Stuart Armstrong, Caelan Cadamarteri, Sam Reed, Ryo Hatsuse, Malik Wilks, Romario Collins, Ethan Horvath, Joe Lumley, Harry Amass, Sutura Kakay, Yisa Alao.
Players currently injured:
Pierce Charles, George Brown, Nathaniel Chalobah, Ernie Weaver, Max Lowe, Dominic Iorfa, Ike Ugbo, Sean Fusire, Dishon Bernard, Mackenzie Maltby, Guilherme Siqueira.
Players linked with moves away this month:
Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, Bailey Cadamarteri.
That’s up to 40 players who have either left, are about to leave, or are currently unavailable within a six-month period.
Take that many players out of any football club and don’t allow them to be replaced — the exact same thing happens.
Now add this:
• Danny Röhl and most of his backroom staff walked out in the summer
• The chairman left
• No CEO, no COO, no Director of Football
• Recruitment outsourced
But it’s fine apparently, because we’ve been “allowed” to bring in:
Liam Cooper
Nathan Redmond
Jaden Heskey
Murphy Cooper

Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust Statement – Post-Boycott
The game is over. The message could not be clearer.
Last night was a powerful moment for our fanbase, and we want to thank every single supporter who played their part. We recognise the difficult decision many made, and the courage it took to stand together for the long-term good of Sheffield Wednesday.
The empty seats inside Hillsborough were not a sign of absence, but of unity. This was a visual representation of what Sheffield Wednesday will look like if Dejphon Chansiri continues to refuse to relinquish control. He will be left alone – with a hollow shell of a football club, a far cry from his once-stated ambition of leading Wednesday into the Premier League by the 150th anniversary of our great club.
The strength and togetherness shown by our fanbase demonstrates a deep and unwavering commitment to the cause. It shows that our supporters are unified, organised and determined to bring about lasting change.
As we continue to represent supporters and push for a better future, the Trust will be hosting a Fans Forum at Wadsley Bridge Club on Thursday 6th November. This will be an open and honest opportunity for all fans to take part in discussions around the next stages of boycott and protest activity, as well as the wider future of our club.
From everyone at the Trust – thank you. Last night showed what happens when Wednesdayites stand together.

The @SWFCTrust project their latest message onto Hillsborough Stadium, calling for Sheffield Wednesday fans to ‘Defund Chansiri’ by saying no to early bird season tickets when they are made available. A boycott of tonight’s game against Middlesbrough is also taking place #SWFC
This group of Sheffield Wednesday players deserve every single bit of praise that comes their way. They’re an absolute credit to themselves and to this football club.
Unpaid, constantly left in the dark by the man in charge, and still going to war for #SWFC like that. Warriors.
I've had the pleasure of speaking to dozens of Owls fans in recent months.
But at the London protest today, I felt something new.
Meet Trevor. Meet Martin. Meet the tens of thousands of Owls fans that deserve to see Dejphon Chansiri sell-up👇

🟡⚫️ Banners at Hillsborough ⚫️🟡
The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust recently wrote to the club requesting clarity on whether supporters could bring fire rated, none-offensive protest banners into Hillsborough.
Peaceful protest is a legal right. Across the country, supporters of many clubs have displayed banners – even in the darkest moments of ownership and mismanagement. It is part of football culture, part of fan expression, and part of what makes supporters the lifeblood of their clubs.
Incredibly, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club has rejected this request.
This stance is almost unprecedented. Even some of the most notorious football owners in the UK have never gone as far as to attempt to silence their own fans in this way. Hillsborough risks becoming the first stadium in the country where supporters are denied the right to display their opposition.
Contrast this with Wrexham AFC, who initially blocked our banner request earlier this season. After listening to their fans and recognising how strongly the wider football community feels about the right to protest, they quickly rectified their decision. That is how a club connected to its community behaves.
This decision is another clear echo of Dejphon Chansiri’s style of leadership: an unwillingness to listen, a refusal to engage, and a mindset that more resembles that of a dictator than the custodian of a proud community institution.
Our club should not be run like a dictatorship. It belongs to the fans and the generations who have built its history. Silencing supporters will not make the problems go away. It only deepens the divide between the terraces and the boardroom.
We urge all fans to continue to make their voices heard – inside and outside the stadium – until Dejphon Chansiri sells the club.
