This is SO cool !!
I just used up for voting amendment XLS-96 Confidential Transfer / privacy on the XRP Ledger dev net enabled by homomorphism and ZK proofs.
What's going on here and how do nodes know payments are correct while not able to see the amounts ?
1) I issued a confidential MPT on the XRP Ledger dev net. I shielded my balance.
Privacy for the amounts of my XRPL issued asset balance and transfers (the addresses stay public).
No one can see the amounts, it's all shielded, except the issuer and the auditor who can always decrypt them (or you, like in the video on my esp32).
2) The XRP Ledger uses 2 boxes 📦 for this all under the hood, an Inbox-box and a Spending-box. I don't go into detail why thats needed but it's important we have it.
3) How do Validators and nodes know the transfers are correct if they can't see the amounts?
Now the true magic is enabled by homomorphism. It allows to do operations arithmetic on encrypted data as if it were plaintext, without the need to decrypt it.
Like adding and subtracting amounts to your balance.
ZK proofs fill the gap that nodes need. We need a comparison of the balance that after you have done your payment you have >= 0 balance. If you would have negative balance it means you trying to spend more than you have something we need to prevent.
For this a ZK proof is used to quickly allow people to check, ahh all good, no idea how much Vet owns but whatever he is spending here it's definitely within his balance and it's not below 0.
Those 2 techniques soon on a public decentralized blockchain XRP Ledger. Should give you goose bumps what this means for possible use cases.
The US Treasury's March 2026 report acknowledges lawful users have valid reasons to seek privacy on public blockchain.
We're solving this with Confidential MPTs on XRPL - regulatory visibility where it matters, user privacy where it should.
This is the standard to build toward.
It's already been an eventful day on the XRPL! Permissioned Domains went live and Permissioned DEX reached the activation period!
Let's bring regulated, secure, institutional volume to the XRP Ledger 😤💪
The XRP Ledger is a house. 😉
It has an open front door for the main floor but also locked doors that only open under certain conditions.

What if XRP could finally generate native, institutional-grade yield on “idle” assets?
@sagarCBO outlines why we are leaning into the proposed XRP Lending Protocol (XLS-66) and what it could mean for institutional liquidity on XRPL.

Token Escrows have now achieved consensus on #XRPL once live after the mandatory 2 week observation period this brings a whole new set of utility for popular token on XRPL like RLUSD, USDC, OUSG, etc.

@Vet_X0@msvadari Our focus here is on security token issuers requiring custom compliance rules on transfers.
DEX-based securities trading remains a complex/evolving regulatory topic. But unlocking compliance utility today is still meaningful, with DEX support something to work toward over time.
Introducing Smart MPTs: the second Smart Feature proposal for the XRPL (following Smart Escrows).
This spec allows MPT issuers to define transfer conditions that automatically run before a payment executes, enabling real on-chain compliance.

There’s a new whitepaper out on Multi-Purpose Tokens on the XRP Ledger. It breaks down a whole new way of handling tokens with baked-in metadata and compliance all directly tied to the asset itself.

I asked Brad here what's the path to get more institutional adoption on the XRP Ledger, so that institutions are comfortable with sharing tx hashes with us.
>He said privacy.
Fast forward it all makes sense and fits nicely together.
We passed many compliance amendments like DID, Credentials and soon Permissioned Domain/DEX.
We also got MPTs, Multi Purpose Tokens for more efficient tokenization of assets.
We have a combined DEX AMM with a high performance orderbook native on chain.
What's missing is privacy and lending/borrowing (XLS-66) but that's coming!
In theory, institutions can then come on chain get issued on chain credentials like KYC AML, participate on the DEX with other users with the same status, put real world assets as collateral in the lending protocol on the XRPL, other institutions borrow against the collateral fully private with encrypted balances and transfers.
Privacy via ZKP also helps with scalability, because we can have heavy computation elsewhere and just verify on chain it happened e.g ZK Rollups.
Lastly it all needs bootstrapping. Without it no feature will do anything on its own.
I see XLS-101 Smart Contracts on the XRPL to be key. For the security of the network and as a glue for all fixed functions tools we have.
I hope the network can gain confidence with xls-100 smart escrows, with how WASM impacts the ledger and move to xls-101.
This should give bottom folks and top down players like Ripple the perfect tech stack to onboard customers for a crescendo on chain!
1/ The Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) standard is now live on the XRP Ledger mainnet.
It’s a new native token standard designed to make issuing real-world assets onchain far simpler, safer, and more aligned with how financial institutions operate.
Worked through several nights to get basic MPToken support added to @XamanWallet. Just submitted @XamanWallet 4.3.0 to Apple and Google. Now we wait...
