Business applications increased significantly among the agriculture, mining and retail industries and decreased the most in the utility, real estate, administrative support, and construction industries.
“For minority groups, in particular, starting a business has become a promising alternative to traditional employment. Entrepreneurship rates are highest among Black and Hispanic adults — 35 percent and 27 percent, respectively — compared with 15 percent of White adults…”
Although women entrepreneurs of color have been founding companies at four times the rate of the overall population, only 0.1% of venture capital funds went to Black and Latino women founders last year.
