1600 numbers were meant for important service calls like OTPs, fraud alerts and transaction updates, not unwanted promotional calls.
When trust in these numbers is lost, everyone loses.
If you've received a spam call from a 1600 number, add your voice. Sign the petition and help protect the 1600 series from misuse.

@aakashprakash@Dynamicinvstr Most names and spam markings are likely more accurate on Truecaller because of the way our platform works. But of course you can choose to rely on whatever platform best serves your needs. Can you share more details on the battery issue so we can look into it?
@preshit@airtelindia@Truecaller Also to your earlier question, we explicitly have clarified that verified businesses are in no way prevented from becoming spam
https://t.co/jqRsYxeDOB
@preshit@airtelindia@Truecaller The block is for that specific number not the brand at large (unless you do name blocking which is a separate setting), our platform allows brands to list separate numbers for each process with distinct name labels, so you will likely get other Airtel calls for other departments
@preshit@airtelindia@Truecaller We can't monitor the conversation of course and help control what they are saying on the call - but if you feel this call was unwarranted please report it on the app and add feedback so our systems can flag it, we will definitely take actions to protect user preferences!
@preshit@airtelindia@Truecaller This isn't actively facilitating spam calls at all, we allow Airtel or any business to verify their identity and outbound calling numbers with us, it doesn't remove the spam badge in any way and if other users mark this number as spam it will show up immediately.
Typo alert: Some customers saw quadrillion-dollar AWS billing estimates today. Slight miscalculation on our end (very slight 😅).
We're fixing it now. No action needed on your end. Sorry for the confusion.
Real question: what will you do with those trillions instead?
Voice calls aren't dying.
Many confident takes about voice (Gen Z won't answer, it costs too much) don't hold up when you ask consumers directly. We asked 1,000+ of them.
