@EoghanKennyTD@labour@astiunion@TUIunion Delighted to hear this topic being raised in the Dáil. Please keep talking about it! Projects worth 40% are going to put so much pressure on students when they have to do them in seven subjects. AI will also be a big problem, and teachers haven’t been given proper training!
The @IrishTimes Christmas Crosaire clues are full of mistakes! Makes for quite an advanced level version this year, trying to solve the clues AND figure out which number they should go with! 😆
Just some of our 2,000+ volunteers who supported our team yesterday for the Irish Life Dublin Marathon ❤️ You always go above & beyond for our participants and we’re so grateful for your continued support. Thank you for everything this weekend ❤️🥰

@CarlowWeather I have also witnessed this! The day that I saw the greatest number of them, however, coincided with the day that I saw a big school group playing on the beach. So the suggestion that they are from a school project stacks up! 🍊
@humphreyjones@NormaFoleyTD1 Schools also need lab technicians to facilitate high quality Science teaching. Hopefully they’ll be provided one day, and we’ll look back with wonder at how we ever survived without them!
@IrishTimesEdu_ I disagree. To begin with, it was a paper peppered with formatting errors. For example, question 2 referred to a funnel, “as pictured in the diagram,” and the funnel was somehow not drawn in the diagram! Very basic error and would have thrown some students.
@yvonne_nolan I see a few places where students needed to know specific definitions eg. Q13 about competition, adaptation and interdependence. How are we meant to know which specifics to teach? I always worry that I’ll let my class down due to my interpretation of the vague learning outcomes!
Thanks to Dr Peter Byrne @ByrneChemistry and his research group for coming to speak to our 5th year Chemistry students @MuckrossCollege about life in an @SSPCentre @scienceirel laboratory at UCD. Inspiring the next generation of Chemists! @lecheiletrust1#girlsinSTEM
@Hookean1 Turn both timers together at the start. When the 4 min timer runs out, there will be 3 mins remaining on the 7 min timer. Stop the 7 min timer at this point by putting it on its side. Then, when ready to time, just turn that 7 min timer 3 times in succession to make 9 minutes!
@humphreyjones@carlobrien@IrishTimes I’m confused. The article ends by saying that we should look towards having “inclusive schools where the care and education needs of the students” are the priority. That’s what we currently have, no?! 🤷🏻♀️
