@dLsd_25 Good, immersive game worlds end up almost writing the story for you . A world in which characters can become enmeshed, provide meaningful reasons to pursue goals, long and short term. Rather than just mission/monster of the week encounters. This is how games run for years.
@dLsd_25 Don’t start your group playing dnd, you will never get them to play anything else. Start with something else, move around more.
That aside, try to run games with plenty of lore and npc interactions. NPC’s can be so much more than ‘mission givers’ [god I hate that term].
@PixelCanuck@McGowanJohnN@blacklodgegames Player agency applies to the whole group not just one player, there is a point at which you have to accept that it’s a group activity, or leave the game.
@TinDogPodcast@Chaosium_Inc I have the pdf, and I know the book will under the Christmas tree. It might not be a surprise, but I guarantee I won’t be disappointed this Christmas! This rule system is amazeballs.
@elvenmaidinn@JohnGPettus@LaFinDesToute If u don’t want to run dnd 5e, because u just don’t like WOTC, that your business. I don’t know why people feel u need to give a reason not 2 run a particular system anymore. Play what u enjoy. It’s a game ffs. Hope all goes well, & u end up with a great bunch of players whatever
@BeardedHalfling I invited girls into my game back in the 90’s [yeah I know the horror]. A couple of players left, but in the end the group went from 4 players to 9. I don’t care if it ruined the game for the ones that left, everyone else had a blast. Gatekeep at your peril fools!
