@mrrobwilson @bricycle @Phil_PJA @RantyHighwayman @carlashton7 If @ShropCouncil were serious about promoting walking over driving they would all be instant. Why should a pedestrian have their journey regularly halted when cars are allowed to stream through with minimal interference? The balance needs to shift significantly. Well done Rob!
"They don’t want to fix the NHS, they just want to privatise it, & turn it into an Americanised privatised service."

@mids35@ActivistSacred @KVivuli @CarolineLucas I agree entirely but leaders need to consider how this individual diet choice can be supported, encouraged and rewarded. I'm afraid I've given up hope of every individual knowing how to make selfless life choices. Some need the carrot, whilst others need the stick.
Just watched #DontLookUp & it’s bloody brilliant - perfectly captures humanity’s capacity for denying the blindingly obvious, the absurdity of an economic system which puts profit above survival of life on earth & a media mostly choosing to ignore the reality of nature’s collapse
Now it's winter wildfires in the US. How far do things have to go before governments recognise that crucial Earth systems might be reaching their tipping points? If so, we need to respond not with slow and steady carbon reduction plans, but with sudden and drastic action.
What’s wrong with this country is that we get furious at asylum seekers claiming £39.63 a week and vote for Tories who think it’s ok to take £330,000 from public funds to fill the potholes on their drive.
It's not about whether you personally want to or need to drive. It’s about understanding the simple truth that in cities, if everyone tries to move by car, no one moves much at all. So the more of us that are enticed to walk, bike & take transit, the better it is for everyone.
BIG NEWS that I didn’t think I’d see in my lifetime!
Starting next year, ALL car advertisements in France will HAVE to also promote other ways of getting around!
“For short journeys, opt for walking or cycling.”
“In everyday life, take public transit.” https://t.co/nGvdXQXyIP
Powerful words from the wonderful David Tennant on why he's supporting our campaign to renationalise the NHS!!

"We don’t prioritize the climate today. Our goal isn't to lower emissions. Our goal is to find solutions that allow us to continue life today. Of course you can ask “Can’t we have both?” But the uncomfortable truth is that we've left it too late for that."

One of the major successes of Dutch cycling is that teenagers make up the largest share of all people on bicycles in the country.
That is because it is direct, safe and social. When teens are seen as a welcome part of the city, everyone is better for it.

@angelaparton @DKShrewsbury @Conservatives I'm not sure we do. We know not to vote Torry but with FPTP that's meaningless. We need an organised and agreed progressive alliance with the immediate priority of abolishing FPTP and installing PR so we can have a real democracy. @MakeVotesMatter@PRfortheUK
The Highway Code is changing - giving priority to people walking and cycling.
V welcome and long overdue - but not a silver bullet. We’ll continue to build new cycle lanes & pedestrian crossings and work with @metpoliceuk to enforce the law.
Changes to the Highway Code are set to be introduced by DfT & will see the introduction of a Hierarchy of Road Users & will give pedestrians & cyclists greater priority over cars at junctions and crossings #DriveSmart#FifeRP
