Zim is targeting 100 000 tons sesame in the 2020/21 summer cropping season. The crop is climate smart, can produce reasonable yields even in the dryer-most parts of the country. Ethiopia producing circa 300 000 tons, exporting 70% to China, earning circa USD400 million/year.
