Princeton economist just stood in front of the worldโs top central bankers and sketched out a future where AI trading systems understand their next move better than they do.
Markus Brunnermeier presented the idea at the Jackson Hole symposium.
BREAKING: A Princeton University economist told global central bankers that AI could soon predict policy moves, urging banks to speak more unpredictably and even hold separate press conferences for humans and machine, per Reuters
He also suggested central banks may have to speak with less predictability and favor simpler, more robust rules to keep an edge.
The paper is philosophical rather than equation-heavy, but it is already shaping how regulators talk about long-term AI risks in finance.
