No one should fear for their safety while gathering in sacred spaces of worship, community, or belonging. We mourn alongside the victims’ families, the Muslim community in San Diego, and all those impacted by this act of violence.
At a time when hate incidents against South Asian communities are surging, and one in four Americans view Chinese Americans as a threat, amplifying this kind of bigotry pours fuel on an already dangerous fire and must be unequivocally condemned.

Grateful to Reps. Jayapal, Carson & Meng for leading this resolution on the 5th anniversary of the FedEx shooting.

Ogles’ Muslim‑ban bill + saying Muslims “don’t belong” = a Constitutional oath violated and communities targeted for hate. Muslim, South Asian, Arab & other communities deserve safety, not persecution. If we allow discrimination today, it spreads tomorrow.
Advancing Justice | AAJC and AJSOCAL dove into the FBI's data on anti-Asian hate in our latest report. https://t.co/w27hiPRRtH was also updated to include the data. The report can be viewed here: https://t.co/UL3xQOPLCc
We condemn the hateful rhetoric in the Young Republicans group chat, and the Vice President’s dismissal of bipartisan outrage. Extremism should never be normalized. Leaders must reject hate and uphold the principles that make our democracy strong. https://t.co/VzXhDQiCNT
Hey @BillAckman does your outrage only kick in when the students are brown? Hard to take your silence seriously when you were calling on Harvard to name students, suspend them, and blacklist them from jobs.
New DOD policy lays bare a serious double standard. Our government can’t claim to lead on fighting antisemitism and anti-Christian bias while undermining religious liberty for those who serve. Faith is a constitutional right, not a favor from government. https://t.co/VZmggAdhfa
ICE & DHS are echoing white supremacist rhetoric & using masked, unmarked raids like extremist groups. This fuels hate & endangers communities. End masked raids. Require clear ID. Confront extremism. Transparency isn’t optional.

The remarks that Rep. Wu has faced for standing up for democracy is shameful. They are an example of using racism to question allegiances based on ethnicity and are a dangerous attempt to incite hate and distract from the fight against redistricting in TX. https://t.co/vANsBviz0Z
“Too many Americans don’t remember Oak Creek—but we do. We remember the blood in the prayer hall. We remember the lives lost.“
“We also remember the courage of those who rose up in the face of trauma and terror in Chardi Kala – even in darkness, ever-rising spirits.”
New FBI data shows anti-Asian hate remains alarmingly high. 2024 was the 3rd worst year on record.
As I shared via @AAAJ_AAJC:
“Anti-Asian hate crimes are nearly 3x higher than pre-pandemic. These numbers are only the tip of the iceberg.”
We need action

CAPAC condemns Rep. Miller's anti-Sikh and anti-Muslim bigotry.
Sikhs and Muslims practice two separate and distinct religions, and conflating the two based on how someone looks is not only ignorant but also racist. (1/2)
Suddenly, everyone’s an expert on USAID.
Billionaires pushing “waste” narratives omit context to manipulate the public. Now we’re not talking about tax fairness or corporate accountability.
It’s a distraction. Don’t fall for it.
🚨USCIRF is alarmed by India’s increased transnational targeting of religious minorities and those advocating on their behalf. USCIRF implores the @StateDept to designate #India a Country of Particular Concern (#CPC). https://t.co/ozyTeFQ0eJ
Like our friends at @sikh_coalition, we are concerned about the statement shared by Indian American lawmakers regarding the attempted assassination of a Sikh American in New York: https://t.co/aenn6hszFg
American Sikhs, including the @sikh_coalition, have expressed concerns with a statement from the "Indian American Members of Congress" concerning India's transnational repression against Sikh Americans.
"Praising a foreign government to investigate itself for human rights violations is insufficient to ensure accountability. This leaves unaddressed the broader concerns of Sikhs and other religious minority diaspora communities who are facing a global suppression campaign," the Sikh Coalition shares in a series of tweets.
"We believe that the narrow focus of the press release, without addressing the broader pattern of targeting against Sikhs engaged in lawfully protected expressions of speech, is a significant oversight," they add.
The statement from U.S. Representatives Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Ro Khanna (CA-17), Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), and Shri Thanedar (MI-13) comes after receiving a classified briefing "from the Biden Administration on the indictment of Nikhil Gupta in connection with a foiled plot to assassinate a U.S. citizen in New York City."
The Indian American Members of Congress statement in full:
"We appreciate the Administration providing us a classified briefing on the Department of Justice’s indictment of Nikhil Gupta, which alleges that an Indian government official engaged in a murder-for-hire plot of an American citizen. As Members of Congress, the safety and well-being of our constituents is our most important priority. The allegations made in the indictment are deeply concerning. We welcome the Government of India’s announcement of a Committee of Enquiry to investigate the murder plot and it is critical that India fully investigate, hold those responsible, including Indian government officials, accountable, and provide assurances that this will not happen again. We believe the U.S. – India partnership has made meaningful impact on the lives of both of our people, but we are concerned that the actions outlined in the indictment could, if not appropriately addressed, cause significant damage to this very consequential partnership."
