I created a federal grant program to give more resources to community organizations serving victims of hate crimes and helping to bridge the gap between communities and law enforcement.

Hate crimes are at record highs in the United States, and the federal government should be using every tool at its disposal to help victims and protect communities. My legislation would require the Department of Justice to do this by advancing community-based approaches to addressing hate crimes and investing in a safer future for all of us.
