Earlier this wk, I had the honour of attending #ICAM2023, which was happening towards the end of Ramadan- a particularly important time of the Holy Month. A huge S/O to the #ICAM2023 team for their outstanding inclusion to ensure Muslims felt safe & welcome whilst attending!
We have worked long and hard for over two years to complete this amazing project! Presenting results from our @uOttawaMed preclerkship antiracism curriculum audit on behalf of the Anti Racism Curriculum Working Group! #ICAM2023 @AFMC_e @easimpsonMD
Sharing anti-racism resources compiled by Black medical students. Of all these I would recommend Medical Apartheid by Martha Washington as a great starting point for those of us in Medicine https://t.co/FQUcrM451J

Honoured to have connected w/ Dr. Kannin Osei-Tutu and hear him speak at the @CFMSFEMC SGM. His talk on becoming an anti-racist leader was incredibly insightful, especially regarding actively identifying, preventing, and reducing racially inequitable outcomes and power imbalances
This is Imam Sayed Elnakib. Imam Elnakib was brutally stabbed while leading Fajr prayers in a masjid in NJ subhanallah. He is currently in a stable but still critical condition and in need of urgent care.
Please give what you can to support him at https://t.co/M2SiESnJH3
In a mosque my family regularly attends, Omar Mosque in Paterson NJ- someone came in and stabbed the imam AS HE WAS LEADING FAJR PRAYER.
The viciousness to attack someone when they’re vulnerable and quite literally submitting to God is beyond comprehension.
It's been an exciting month! I had the honour of presenting at the @MUNMed Research Forum & CoAMS conference! Both of my projects focused on advocacy for underserved communities. Proud to say I won "most representative of conference theme" for my cultural sensitivity research!
"Immigrating to a new country is far from simple. It involves resilience, strength, and most importantly, community support."
Honoured to have worked alongside @laurenkplaw on @MUNMed 's PDoA op-ed focused on Newcomer Health!
