The return of Shabana FC has revived excitement in Kenyan football. The club has increased stadium attendance, boosted gate revenues, strengthened the football culture in Kisii, and challenged the long-standing dominance of Gor Mahia FC and AFC Leopards SC in terms of fan mobilization. Today, whenever Shabana plays, stadiums are fuller, the atmosphere is louder, and the FKF Premier League becomes a more attractive product for supporters, sponsors, and broadcasters

Matches involving Shabana fc, Gor Mahia, and AFC Leopards have become some of the most anticipated fixtures in the league because all three clubs bring large travelling support.
The club has demonstrated that community-based football support is not limited to Nairobi. Kisii fans have shown that regional clubs can attract thousands of supporters every week when there is strong identity and local pride behind the team.

Shabana FC has enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 KPL Sportpesa League campaign, recording 15 wins, 11 draws, and 10 losses. This strong performance has seen the club finish in top 4 position, with the team spending much of the second half of the season as genuine title contenders, consistently challenging the league leaders.
The club has earned recognition as one of the most disciplined and professionally managed football institutions in Kenya. Over the years, Shabana FC has built a reputation as one of the country's most supported community-rooted clubs, with its passionate fan culture forming the backbone of its identity. From Kisii to Nairobi and beyond, Shabana matches regularly attract enthusiastic crowds who fill stadiums with the club's colours, songs, and unwavering support.
Today, Shabana FC boasts more than 50 active branches across the country, all of which play a vital role in the club's daily operations, development, and growth.
On September 7, 2025, Shabana FC hosted the annual Shabana Day celebrations at Gusii Stadium, welcoming Tanzanian side Pamba Jiji FC for an international friendly match. The event showcased the club's growing stature and its commitment to engaging supporters and stakeholders.
Shabana FC also set a new benchmark for transparency in Kenyan football by publicly unveiling all 14 of their new signings, a practice rarely seen within the local game.
A major milestone in the club's development came on April 12, 2026, when President William Ruto handed over an ultra-modern team bus to Shabana FC and officially launched the upgrade and expansion of Gusii Stadium in Kisii County as part of the government's ongoing investment in sports infrastructure. The club also received KSh20 million to support match venue arrangements during the transition period.
In cup competitions, Shabana FC demonstrated clear progress. During the previous season, the club was eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Mozzart Bet Cup by Kakamega Homeboyz. In the 2025/26 campaign, Shabana advanced further, reaching the quarter-finals before narrowly losing 1–0 to Kenya Police FC at Gusii Stadium. This improvement highlighted the team's growing competitiveness on the national stage.
Beyond the senior men's team, the club achieved remarkable success across its other football programs. The Shabana Starlets completed an unbeaten FKF Women's National Super League campaign, securing historic promotion to the FKF Women's Premier League.
Meanwhile, Shabana Youth FC continued to impress in the FKF Nyanza Regional League, sitting second on the table with 32 points and underlining the club's commitment to nurturing future talent.
Shabana FC has also distinguished itself as a pioneer in Kenyan football innovation. The club became the first team in the country to introduce matchday mascots at Gusii Stadium and among the first to embrace modern digital LED advertising boards, enhancing the matchday experience for supporters and commercial partners alike.
Through its achievements on and off the pitch, Shabana FC continues to strengthen its position as one of Kenya's most progressive, community-driven, and ambitious football clubs.

Today on Saturday 23rd May 2026, Shabana Starlets FC will host Lowland Starlets from Nyamira County at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho Grounds starting at 1:00 PM in a Kenya Women National Super League match.
Shabana Starlets need just one point to secure promotion to the Kenya Women Premier League. Fans from all parts of the Gusii region are encouraged to turn up in large numbers and support the young ladies as they chase this historic achievement.
Since the match will be played within the school compound, fans are requested not to bring alcoholic drinks or engage in any form of drug abuse. More than 20 Shabana stewards will work together with Cardinal Otunga Mosocho security officers to ensure order and safety before, during, and after the match.
To access the playing grounds, all fans must receive clearance at the gate to prevent unauthorized individuals from sneaking drugs into the school compound.
This is a very important match for women’s football in the Gusii region and the larger South Nyanza region.

@CarolRadull Tomorrow on Saturday 23rd May 2026 , Shabana starlets fc will host Nyamira count
based side Lowland Starlets at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho Grounds from 1:00 PM in a crucial Women’s National Super League clash.
For Shabana Starlets FC, just one point will be enough to secure promotion to the Kenya Women Premier League a remarkable achievement for the club and the entire Gusii community.
This match is not only important for Shabana Starlets and Lowland Starlets, but also for the growth of women’s football in the Gusii region. Both teams proudly represent the community in the national women’s league and continue to inspire young girls to pursue football.
Years ago, many people never believed that women could play entertaining and competitive football just like men. Football in the region was mainly dominated by men’s clubs. If Shabana Starlets earn promotion, they will become the first women’s team from the larger South Nyanza region to play in the Kenya Women Premier League.
Shabana Starlets FC is coached by former Shabana FC player Peter Ogechi. During the 2023/2024 season, Peter Ogechi played a key role in helping Shabana FC gain promotion from the National Super League to the Kenya Premier League.
Now, the big question remains: Can Peter Ogechi once again make history this time as a coach by guiding Shabana Starlets to the Kenya Women Premier League?
All eyes will be on Coach Peter Ogechi and his technical bench as they aim to raise the Gusii region’s flag even higher through women’s football.

Shabana Starlets are on the verge of making history as they fight for promotion and the championship in the Women National Super League Zone B. The team needs just one more point to be crowned champions after an impressive unbeaten run this season.
Shabana Starlets have played 17 matches, winning 12 and drawing 5, with no loss recorded. Their outstanding performance has earned them 41 points at the top of the table. They are closely followed by Elim white ladies from Trans Nzoia with 39 points, while Solasa Stima Queens occupy third position, the 4th position is taken by Iron ladies fc from Luhya land .
The team’s success this season has been attributed to strong coordination between the players, technical bench, and top management. Shabana Starlets are coached by Peter Ogechi, whose leadership and experience have played a key role in the club’s remarkable campaign.
Women’s football teams in Kenya continue to face major financial challenges due to the lack of sponsorship in the women’s league. Some clubs are forced to give walkovers because of transportation difficulties and other logistical problems. However, the management of Shabana FC deserves credit for ensuring that Shabana Starlets receive the necessary support throughout the season.
