There are people who leave a mark on the world, and then there are people who change it entirely. Steve changed the world and so many lives in the process. He certainly changed my life forever. His spirit lives on in everything he created and everyone he inspired.
🚨☣️More details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab.
"FSB units accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news. This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security / counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary.
It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.

@DragonKhan37896@GBPolitcs Is your view on farmers official LibDem policy? Curious as I live in the midst of a lot of farmers and we currently have a LibDem MP…
Windows secretly keeps a thumbnail of every photo you've ever deleted.
It lives in a file called thumbcache_256.db.
Forensic examiners pull it routinely.
There are 15 more hidden stores just like it.
Here's exactly where they are — and how to wipe them:
Friends, it was one of the signal privileges of my life to preach the homily on the vigil of Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s beatification. I reflected on his life through the three paths of friendship with Jesus Christ that we see embodied in him: the breakthrough of grace, the knowledge that one is a sinner, and the path of mission.
As we prepare to celebrate his beatification later this afternoon, I invite you to watch my full homily.
What does escalation with Russia look like.
For two years now I have been saying:
1. The chances of a geographically constrained conflict with Russia are higher than at any point in my 24 year military career.
2. Russia is losing more than it can afford in Ukraine (30k troops a month). Missiles and drones are hitting major cities, the elites are feeling the effects of the war and economically it’s taking a toll. Putin has few options left.
3. With nowhere left to go Russian doctrine would suggest either he escalates in Ukraine or he escalates horizontally. The former would require mobilising large sections of the population further upsetting the Russian elites. The latter needs to be significant enough to bring the international community to the table to de- escalate in Ukraine whilst being calculated enough that it doesn’t trigger a NATO Article Five response.
4. Horizontal escalation would look like drones targeting an allied nation under the pretext of protecting a Russian speaking population (all the Eastern European countries have geographical pockets of Russian speaking people), seizing an uninhabited island in the Baltics or a strategically important piece of land in the High North. It could be a drone strike on Critical National Infrastructure or on Allied Troops stationed near the border. It could be a significant increase in Hybrid attacks, Cyber and espionage for example.
5. Remember that the Russians have to justify to their population why escalation is necessary so a false flag operation or a major incident is often staged/manufactured then declared to justify a significant response.
6. As I have said until I am blue in the face, if our forces don’t resemble the Ukrainians, if they don’t have the same capabilities and capacity to fight large scale drone warfare like they do, then our forces are not a deterrent. They are an opportunity.
7. Ukraine has been a net importer of security for years. They are now a net exporter. We need the Ukrainians to help us defend our Eastern Flank. They are the best in the world at this type of defence.
Much of this will be tracked and observed, understanding the indicators will be key.
Keep close eyes on elite drone formations. Where they go trouble is likely to follow.
The best way to deter this from happening is to be prepared and actively demonstrate that to the Russians.
But seriously have a think as to how you deter a leader that has willingly sustained 1.5 million casualties. That’s more than America took in WWII. It’s difficult…
A normal airport landing gives you a runway thousands of metres long. Luke Czepiela had just 20.76 metres.
He landed his aircraft on the 27-metre-wide helipad atop Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab, a 56-storey hotel with virtually no room for error. Before the attempt, Czepiela completed more than 650 practice landings to perfect the approach, touchdown and braking.
When he finally went for it, he touched down and brought the aircraft to a stop in just 20.76 metres. That’s the difference between landing on a runway and landing on a tiny platform 212 metres above the ground. ✈️🔥

Activist: "Farmers pump their cows full of antibiotics. It's in every glass of milk."
Dairy farmer: "Do you know what happens if it is?"
Activist: "People drink it."
Dairy farmer: "The tanker gets tested at the gate. One cow's worth of antibiotic in 20,000 litres and the whole load goes down the drain. Every farm on the run that morning gets their milk tipped, and the farm that did it pays for all of it."
Activist: "So you're saying it never happens."
Dairy farmer: "I'm saying a treated cow on this farm gets red tape round her leg, goes to the back of the parlour, and her milk goes in a bucket for 6 days. I treat her like she's radioactive, because financially she is."
Activist: "You still use them."
Dairy farmer: "On a cow that's ill. Same as you. The vet writes it up, the date goes on the wall, and the wall's checked. Use on this farm is about half what it was 10 years ago, and that's every dairy I know."
Activist: "Routine use in feed, then."
Dairy farmer: "Illegal for years. Growth promoters went 20 years ago. You're describing a chicken shed in a country I don't farm in."
Activist: "You can't prove it's not in the milk."
Dairy farmer: "I can prove it 3 times a week, because they test it 3 times a week and send me the sheet. When did you last get a sheet on your oat drink?"
Activist: "That's different."
Dairy farmer: "It is. Nobody tests it. Mine's the most inspected liquid in your kitchen and it's the one you're scared of."
Activist: "Farmers won. The threshold's £2.5m now. Millionaires crying about tax."
Farmer: "What's this field worth?"
Activist: "I don't know. A lot."
Farmer: "About £10,000 an acre round here. I've got 400 acres. So, a millionaire. 4 times."
Activist: "Exactly."
Farmer: "It made £22,000 last year. My wife does the books and she didn't pay herself. That's about half a percent on the £4m you're looking at."
Activist: "Then sell some."
Farmer: "Sell 100 acres and I've got a farm too small to run and a bill on the rest. Sell the lot and I've got a house and no job. It's £4m the way your kidney is worth £100,000. True on paper. Try spending it."
Activist: "Other businesses pay inheritance tax."
Farmer: "Other businesses pay it out of what they make. Mine makes half a percent. The bill's 20% on everything over the line, so £300,000. That's 14 years of profit, if the weather holds for 14 years, which it has never once done."
Activist: "So you want a special exemption for being a farmer."
Farmer: "I want the tax to be on money. You've built one on soil. The man who buys my 100 acres to get out of paying it won't grow a thing on them, and the relief was there to stop him in the first place."
Activist: "You're crying poverty from a £4m farm."
Farmer: "I'm crying poverty from a £22,000 wage. The £4m is what a man in a suit will pay for my job. You keep confusing what he'll pay to take it with what I get for doing it."
@andrew_allison If I were the PM I would be changing the law to remove any say of any PM, regardless of faith, in deciding Anglican bishop appointments AND remove the Lords Spiritual at the same time.
