@philAllottPFCC Sir, I would also add that as a PCC you have had zero impact on the quality of service provision to victims of crime. You have never been a police officer, have not trained officers nor set force or national policy and procedure? In effect a transparent manager.
@philAllottPFCC Re the tragic case of Sarah Everard your comments were patronising to women and detrimental to confidence in the police. As a dad I weep internally for Sarah’s family. Political appointees should hang their heads in shame on ill informed, inaccurate & nonsensical statements.
@alexthedarklord So good to hear you again Alex! I looked you up the other day and found you were on this station, so you’re now playing. All the best Chris in Northampton. #besttimeoftheday
@MrMcEnaney I agree wholeheartedly with the comments on the job and it’s value added. I’d love to see who gets the job, whether they have any background in education or just another privately educated lawyer who knows the right people and fancies doing something else.
#MTTSChat Great to chat tonight folks, I'm sure we'll all get through this and help our youngsters along the way. It's a hard journey for them at the current time.
@novembersloz @Beamathsteacher Absolutely less is more and some children just don't have access to tech or decent Internet connections. Lots of kids accessing material through their phones.
@danielleteach1@BeckyHaestier @Beamathsteacher @MissDruryMaths@DsummersMaths Hi sorry slight error in my earlier reply, most year groups do maths every day - they do three online lessons and two days of independent (set) study. The year group that does four lessons a week has one day of independent study.
@BeckyHaestier @Beamathsteacher @MissDruryMaths@DsummersMaths I'm now working from home exclusively, I can log in to MS teams and the school has a virtual desktop that teachers can log into, its pretty good - but a bit limited bandwidth wise.
@MissDruryMaths@Carol_Maths @Beamathsteacher @DsummersMaths I think one of the most importnat things is to try and encourage as much student activity as possible, so it becomes two way, rather than just a boring lecture.
@BeckyHaestier @Beamathsteacher I work with a lady who was an ex management consultant and her SE2 was basically cancelled last year, its not going to be as bad as that this year.
@BeckyHaestier @Beamathsteacher I'm doing a number of online lessons now, where I try to replicate the classroom as much as possible, its never going to be the same but you can get somewhere close to it.
@BeckyHaestier @Beamathsteacher I think there's an acceptance that things are very different this year and that your experience will have been less, my training provider is very much focused on trying to support us as much as possible : ).
@BeckyHaestier I had a great training session the other day around behaviour management - particularly around use of 'teacher language' and also managing your own persona - being confident, setting out to achieve good behaviours etc.
@MrS_Maths @Beamathsteacher I've done a few interviews in my time, relax, be honest - make sure you have done your research first! Come across as genuine and motivated and you shouldn't have a problem, equally if you don't know something say that you don't and then explain how you might remedy that.
@BeckyHaestier@MissDruryMaths @Beamathsteacher I've been doing reading interventions with some children who are quite a way behing their peers, including one boy who was refugee from Syria and has learnt english from scratch. This is some of the work i've actually enjoyed the most.
