Back in 2022 while covering the murder of Doreen Jacius, I remember I saw a terrible tweet from an account called @SimsburyDems. Rather than assume it was real - I actually picked up the phone and called multiple people on the committee. Ya know, journalistic due diligence. They told me that for years they've been dealing with a troll who spoofs their accounts and posts salacious things. This message was not posted by the SimsburyDems. Now, they should get on their real page and tell people that.
