@ Shannon Martin
Are we not going to take a stand against @GovRonDeSantis and the Florida GOP or are you OK with your residents losing funding for schools, infrastructure, and public safety, parks, libraries??
Why so quiet?
Shannon is OK with this.
Today, I voiced my concerns on the Senate floor regarding SJR 2F, the proposed constitutional amendment on property taxes and voted no. 🏛️
While property tax relief is an important discussion, this proposal was rushed through the process without fully addressing critical questions about its impact on local governments and their ability to fund essential services such as public safety, infrastructure, and schools. The affordability crisis facing Florida is much larger than property taxes alone. If we are serious about helping Floridians who are hurting, we should be addressing housing costs, insurance costs, and the barriers facing first-time homebuyers and seniors on a fixed income—not advancing a proposal that leaves so many Floridians behind. This one size fits all approach will not provide any relief for renters which make up 1/3 of the residents in our state. ⚠️
Floridians deserve a transparent conversation and clear answers before such a significant change is made to be aware of the potential loss of essential services. The proposal will now appear on the November 3 ballot, where voters will have the final say and it will need 60% of the voters support to pass. ✅
I encourage everyone to learn more about the amendment and make their voices heard at the ballot box. 🗳️

The @TheFLGOP is lying. Property taxes aren't "rent." They fund essential local services, primarily public education, law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency services, infrastructure, mosquito control, and amenities (rec centers, libraries parks).
@RonDeSantis Ha! Florida has the highest car insurance in the nation. Gtfoh
Florida has the highest utility bills in the nation.
Deathsantis is in cahoots with FPL and car insurance companies.
Don't let him fool you.
This week alone:
DOJ opens an investigation into the woman Trump raped.
The White House is caught steering a $620 million contract to Don Jr.’s firm.
The Pentagon hands out a $10 billion contract after Trump buys stock in the company.
Foreign governments are caught funneling hundreds of millions into a random JPMorgan account tied to Trump’s “Board of Peace” with no oversight.
It’s just Thursday.
The corruption isn’t hidden anymore. It’s happening out in the open.
@NikkiFried Thanks to our Governor #Deathsantis
