An opinion piece in https://t.co/hkupv6YKlg by Dr. Cristina-Ioana Dragomir (New York University) reflects on a central question of our time: if soil science has warned us for decades, why does degradation continue to accelerate?
With up to 75% of global land already degraded — and projections rising — the challenge may not be a lack of data, but a gap between knowledge and collective action.
The article examines how the Save Soil movement attempts to bridge research, public engagement, and policy conversations — arguing that awareness is not the endpoint, but a condition for lasting structural change.
Restoring soil will take science, institutions, and sustained civic will — working together.
