Labour has now lost more than 1,000 seats in the local elections and counting. Reform is up by 1,200, the Greens by 269, the Lib Dems 88.

There are historic losses everywhere - Wakefield, Sunderland, Barnsley, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Wigan, Tameside, Hartlepool, Thurrock (where the collapse is total) - and that's before we get to Wales and Scotland. Birmingham is on the cusp
