unironically this is like a core tenet of my belief of environmental stewardship. we're clearly supposed to be not just maintaining the ecosystem, but making it thrive! instead we let capitalist ghouls ruin everything. it must come to an end
you need to be slowmaxxing. you need to be reading long, fat books. you need to be making 48-hour chocolate chip cookies. you need to spend hours watching wildlife, you need to spend 15+ min making your coffee. you need to breathe in and breathe out. you need to be slowwwwwwwwwww.
In Finland, charging fees for tuition is illegal, which means rich kids have to mix with normal kids. That means rich families had to make sure the schools their children attended were good, which in turn prompted the wealthy to invest in public education.
Finland, take a bow.
i took a couple environmental-based politics classes in college and in every single class they quite literally say this would happen because of our unchanged behavior towards climate change so yeah it’s crazy but lowkey what did we think was gonna happen
A PC gamer has found a fun way to make Steam games feel like physical cartridges again.
Reddit user u/Jibril-sama created a setup using old 2.5-inch SSDs, with each 128GB drive holding one Steam game and a small script.
When the SSD is plugged into the PC, it automatically opens Steam and launches that game.
The creator bought the used SSDs for around €7 each and uses them to store games that aren’t played often, freeing up space on the main drive.
When they want to play a game, they simply plug in the SSD like inserting a game cartridge.
I said this about AI well over a year ago. Using it to diagnose and fire people with medical conditions so they lose their insurance AND their income is somehow even more heartless and evil than I’d predicted.
“Humans caused this” no. humans have lived alongside and even grew ecosystems for hundreds of thousands of years. What has caused this is European-driven and influenced settler-colonialism and mass industrialization. There’s no way around that.
@morganon238@Ayohmiposi_arts Reassurance can be an important part of building trust and strengthening a relationship, yeah. But if it is constant, excessive, or repeating the same things over and over, that probably indicates an internal issue, or an issue with the relationship.
