BREAKING: Donald Trump strikes a blow against Jimmy Kimmel right before his heroic return to late night as his MAGA FCC supports right-wing affiliates for refusing to air the show despite the reinstatement.

These fascists are not backing down...

"Democrats just keep digging themselves a deeper & deeper hole on Kimmel," Carr, the consummate MAGA hatchet man, wrote on X. "They simply can’t stand that local TV stations—for the first time in years—stood up to a national programmer & chose to exercise their lawful right to preempt programming. We need to keep empowering local TV stations to serve their communities of license."

"After all, local TV stations—not the national programmers—have public interest obligations, and they should be making decisions that in their view meets the needs of their local communities," he added.

He attached a screenshot of California State Senator Scott Wiener calling for the government to break up Sinclair Broadcasting Group, the conservative-controlled media conglomerate that is still refusing to air Kimmel despite Disney backing down on his suspension. Disney owns ABC and Sinclair is ABC's largest affiliate.

Along with fellow broadcast station owners Nexstar Media, Sinclair will run different programming tonight instead of Kimmel. Combined, the two companies reach roughly 23% of U.S. households. Their war against Kimmel has nothing to do with his tame remarks about Charlie Kirk's killer and everything to do with Trump wanting the late night host off the air for good.

"On Kimmel, the Democrats are engaged in nothing more than Projection and Distortion," Carr wrote in another tweet. "Projection because Democrats are the ones that spent years illegally weaponizing government to silence dissent."

As usual with these Republicans, Carr failed to provide any details or evidence for his smear of Democrats. MAGA world engages in constant projection.

"And it is Democrats that will do it all again—as they are openly telling you today," Carr continued. "Distortion because Democrats want to blame anything other than Disney and their local TV stations for Kimmel’s suspension."

"Those businesses decided that, in their view, a suspension made sense," he went on. "The reporting on this is clear. Notably, this is the first time recently that any local TV stations have pushed back on a national programmer like Disney. And that is a good thing because we want want empowered local TV stations. After all, local TV stations—not the national programmers—have public interest obligations, and they should be making decisions that in their view meets the needs of their local communities."

It's important to note that Carr — like Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel — is not a neutral, nonpartisan actor. If he says something, it's because Trump wants him to say it. These tweets make it clear that this administration is far from finished with its war on free speech. That means we can't rest on our laurels. The survival of the First Amendment depends upon our continued vigilance.
