The Schuylkill County “Medal” Play has gone through a variety of formats in its 63 year history. The 1st 15 years were actually run how our current Match Play is. From 1977 to 1991 it bounced between 36, 54, and 72 holes. 1992 was the start of our current 36 holes of stroke play
The Hidden Birch Challenge is back after the inaugural event last season. This Better Ball of Partners event is open to any amateur golfer. 18 holes at Hidden Valley August 23rd. 18 at White Birch August 24th. 8 am shotgun both days. Kurzinsky and Hillibush inaugural champs
The 21st Senior Stroke play will be held Friday, August 15th and Sunday, August 17th at Hidden Valley. There will be 3 Divisions broken up by age: Senior (55-64), Super-Senior (65-74), and newly added Legends (75+). Defending Senior Champ Joe Coulson and Super-Senior Mike Muncy.
The 42nd County Junior Championship will take place July 28th at @SchuylkillCC. It will be broken into male and female divisions as well as grades 10-12, 7-9, and 6 and under. Any student-athlete of a Schuylkill league school is eligible. Talan Spittler defending champ
The 34th County Match play will be held July 19/20 at Hidden Valley Golf Course. Qualifying dates July 8th, 11th, or 13th. Defending Champion Jim Dietz
The third county event will be the 2nd running of the Senior Schuylkill Invitational held at @SchuylkillCC on Monday and Tuesday July 7th and 8th. This better ball of partner event is open to any golfers age 55 or older. Defending champions Coulson and Jones.
The 64th Schuylkill County Medal play will be held June 6th and 7th at White Birch Golf Course. Open to past or present county residents, or anyone that is a member at a county course. Defending champion is @srice89 with a two day total of 8 under.
