@springsteen shared today that his mother, Adele, had passed away yesterday. Adele was a fixture at her son’s shows, and would often be seen on stage dancing with him. In 2021, he shared that Adele had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 10 years earlier, and that while the disease had taken a lot away, “the need to dance hasn’t left her. She can’t speak. She can’t stand. She can’t feed herself. But when she sees me, there is always a smile. Still a smile. And there’s still a kiss. And there’s a sound which she makes when she sees me. It’s just the sound but I know it means ‘I love you.’” Bruce posted this video of him and his mother dancing to swing music in tribute. May we all keep dancing, keep singing, and keep feeling the music. Sending love your way the Springsteen family. ♥️
Thank you, @elmo for this much needed reminder to check in on your friends and strangers. And thank you to every one on @sesamestreet for being an example to us all of how to show up for our friends in need or just of how to be there even when we aren’t in need! Today, check on your friends. Check on your friends that are strong, that are going through something, that are brave, that need a shoulder, that are there for you in times of struggle, and that sometimes aren’t. It doesn’t matter. Ask them how they are, how they really are, and then, just be there for them and listen. Tell me: how are you? #EmotionalWellBeing
Jannik Sinner said some beautiful words about his parents after winning the Australian Open:
“Everyone who’s watching from home, especially my family.. I wish everyone could have my parents. They always let me choose whatever I wanted to. Even when I was younger, I played some other sports.. they never put pressure on me. I wish this freedom is possible for as many young kids as possible. Thank you so much to my parents.” 🥹
