Weโre delighted that Dr Lindsay Loundagin @SmallStrain had the time to present her inspiring research on 4D #bone remodeling ๐ฉปโฒ๏ธ and the project she will be working on when she visits our lab in Odense next year at our weekly lab-meeting today #synergy looking forward to January
The purpose of a recent study in #JBMR was to quantify the relationship between antiresorptive treatment and fatigue life (cycles to failure) in bone from ovariectomized cynomolgus monkeys @SmallStrain@edwardswb @WileyBiomedical

Improved drug treatment in humans with osteoporosis might be possible thanks to a #USask College of Medicine research team that has developed a new approach to imaging which detects changes in bone tissue far more quickly than bone densitometry scans.

Check out @usask's Dr. Cooper's talk on using a novel in vivo rabbit model and synchrotron micro-CT @CanLightSource to track bone remodeling dynamics and how it can help us understand osteoporosis!

@d_whittier Nice work Danielle!
I already had your abstract marked as a must watch but when I heard Dr. Compston mention your work in the meeting highlights I was sending you virtual high-fives. Very rad and well deserved ๐
Notice how many discard masks are floating around? @SmallStrain writers about how used masks may be the next plastic straws.

Why havenโt measurements such as tissue mineralization, microarchitecture, and structure found their way into the clinic? Check out this new collaborative editorial from @SmallStrain @ToddBredbenner @KarlPhd and myself. https://t.co/Yq4eul4del
Today @SmallStrain covers the importance of fundamental science at places like @NSERC_CRSNG@CIHR_IRSC and how we can't leave it behind in favour of applied projects.

Predicting the fatigue life of bone is incredibly challenging, but @SmallStrain has a novel, relatively simply approach. (1/n)

IMHO, this is why Stress Fx will never be prevented by monitoring load. We collected these beautiful images of cortical bone @CanLightSource. The variance in vasculature and lacunar density between samples is amazing. Why would you expect them to behave mechanically similar?
