New tech trialled by @TransportForWM to improve safety by giving walkers & cyclists priority over vehicles. Installed at road crossings detecting cyclists earlier enabling traffic signals to go green sooner. Our director of external affairs @SarahMcMonagle commented on the trial:
Finally got to listen to this today (whilst driving ironically). Really great to hear the Secretary of State for Transport explain that the importance of Active Travel to solving the public health and the climate emergency is understood.

@amy_tisi @WAMActUK@MarkRWilsonUK At the recent Ascot SPD meetings I raised the issue of the elderly pedestrian who was killed a couple of years ago - immediately dismissed as an accident, rather than a consequence of the car dominated street.
We like to think that we're aware of the negative consequences of a car dominated world, and that is, in part, behind our campaigning for better active travel facilities in our neighbourhoods.
