That flobbit who bought everything mail order, she/her, “interested but unsure”, (no medical advice offered), wifernickel to @grantovius, mama to two babies
I like to participate in Twitter like I like to participate at parties: not much at all. I like to listen/read mostly. Until @Grantovius drags me out of the corner and makes me talk to people. 🤷🏻♀️ #introvertlife
The secret to dominating chaos? Stop acting like a task-taker and start acting like a product owner. Protect your time, demand clarity, and execute only on what actually moves the needle.
@alyssaleann I have someone like this. Combo of voice memos, long form chats, occasional letters. People of like minds exist they are just hard to find.
I used to think I'd be satisfied with fictional characters too until I got the first electric taste of love - real love. It was like having a sheet ripped off my head and my tongue hooked up to a car battery. I didn't know whether I was flying or falling, couldn't figure out whether my body burned raw needed to be scraped off the pavement or the bright side of the moon. I was assaulted by acrid fear mixed with heady pleasure.
Love imploded with possibilities into my head. Suddenly the world was a place full of wonder and excitement and curiosity. Before I fell in love, life had felt like a long tight line of quiet actions that would slowly sag over time. I'd spend nights in bed hoping to dream about the Sandman from the Neil Gaiman comic or the devil I invented in my stories. A phantom taste. A little girl's sad fantasy. I didn't know that life was meant to be more than a single color, more than longing, tongue curled out to catch a drop wrung from a memory that'd never existed.
When I fell in love, everything made sense.
I was never satisfied with the fiction of love ever again. It was laughable to me to think that'd ever been an option.
@alyssaleann In my experience/view it really seems to correlate with how much sleep you can get. I passed my family nurse practitioner recertification boards 6 months after my second was born. But the gray matter thing is being studied. Things do change.
When my sister got her first internship she was nervous she didn’t have all the material necessary to work at the company
Told her they were going to be much more interested in her being the person who can figure it out,
to this day she still has an open offer to join full time
@alyssaleann My favorite by far are the ones that I’ve only seen in airports, where it’s in a semi-private corner near the sinks and it’s actually just a long section of counter space with a dedicated sink and trash can. Don’t have to wonder if my large/long child will break it, etc.
@korinreid Mine *only* liked specifically “Neuropro” version of Enfamil (wouldn’t even sip the Gentlease).
Not a recommendation since you’ve already tried Enfamil but solidarity. ❤️ Hope you find success quickly!
It's so much easier to polish off details than start from a big mess, which is very overwhelming for me as a person with ADHD. What I have noticed over time, however, is that Nick has begun to do more and more of the extra details at night without me saying a word
pro tip for the dads: if your default state with your wife is being an appreciative, attentive, thoughtful, caring spouse then it's basically impossible for you to screw up mother's day bc there's no pressure to make up for the other 364 days of the year.
@alyssaleann Been there semi-recently, all I can say is that yes it’s hard to be in such a different life stage from the people around you and no you’re not imagining it.
