@JacobFlemingMD I also think it is important to tailor the report to the audience. A CT report that I dictate for the emergency department is going to look differently from a report that I dictate for the oncology service. Some people seem unable to make this distinction.
@JacobFlemingMD I don’t know what people are being instructed to do in their training programs these days, but the verbosity of radiology reports with unnecessary “fluff” as you refer to it is indeed tiring.
@smerconish I read multiple x-rays every day on patients who have had hip replacements. I have never ever considered the appearance of the prosthetic in the manner which you have suggested. Thanks for ruining my life! Now I cannot get this image out of my head.
Sorry ultrabromance gravelistas but yr bars are too wide ur arms should not be parallel to ground you look like you're pretending to fly also a how big a bar bag do you need for a Friday afternoon ride r u carrying a week's worth of firewood?
Feels good to get that off my chest.
It’s absolutely outrageous that I’ve sent over 25 letters to more than 8 federal agencies requesting documents related to COVID and received virtually nothing. I’ve also asked 4 Senate Democrat Committee Chairs to sign letters requesting these documents and so far none have.
Great interview. 50% of good jobs are overcredentialed. Also today @KenColeman talks about colleges shuttering their doors.
Higher Ed and supporting industries need to take cover. There is a storm coming and the way we view education and employability will change
@drlauraprogram the practice of radiology can be extremely high stress and demanding at times. It is by no means a safe haven for an impaired physician. I hope the son of that caller gets the help he needs and focuses on his own health before trying to help others.
@drlauraprogram while we may not be as patient facing as other specialties we must communicate effectively and be able to function as an integral member of multidisciplinary health care delivery teams.
@drlauraprogram I respect your opinion on so many things but your advice to the recent caller regarding her son with mental illness was way off especially in regards to your understanding of the practice of #Radiology
Lawrence is a man who tends to keep to himself. That all changed when the @USMC veteran rescued a 140+ lb dog who loves dressing up in people clothes + going to parties. Great match thru our partners @sdhumane > https://t.co/7VwsXM3X1C

@smerconish I’m also left wondering how much of this “body shaming” is perceptual - IOW - has our hypersensitive victim mentality culture created a perception that these important critical conversations about health behavior represents mistreatment.
@smerconish I agree with that holistic approach to achieving a healthy weight. However, there is a fine line between “body shaming” and personal accountability. I think it is vitally important to be able to have those critical conversations with patients and still be supportive.
@juliemason wild turkeys are no joke! Back in the early 2000s our town had to bring in federal wildlife agencies to rid a neighborhood of aggressive turkeys. Who knew? Killer turkeys 🦃
