Recently, Julie Berry, BIW’s CIO, met with the @SnoweInstitute sophomore cohort (and a few juniors and seniors as well) at Boothbay Region High School. BIW’s Deb Arrington, Manager of Transformation, is one of the co-leaders of this group of girls.
Julie shared her experience in developing as a leader and what has lead her to her current role today as a vice president at BIW and answered questions from the group. We hope these Olympia's Leaders will consider working at BIW in their future careers, too.
The Institute works to raise the confidence and aspirations of high school girls across Maine at no cost to students, families, or schools.
It was was wonderful to speak with the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute at Oak Hill HS. We discussed stress, character strengths, and performance psychology. Always wonderful to represent @UTKnoxville with a new audience @SnoweInstitute@FormerSenSnowe @UTKCEHHS

The Institute has launched a new offering, called “Online with OSWLI.”
Olympia’s Leaders, alumni, and advisors now have a monthly gathering that provides both dedicated social time with statewide peers and additional professional development sessions.
In 2023, these businesses generously supported the Institute's program—which builds the confidence, aspiration, and leadership skills of more than 500 high school girls across all 16 Maine counties.
They were also named “Best Places to Work in Maine.”
*ALUMS ONLY*
