Calling all technical students in India 📣If you’re looking to put your algorithmic skills to the ultimate test, The Big Code is your stage. “The Big Code was born from a simple yet ambitious goal: to identify and celebrate the brightest technical minds in India,” says Shivangi, a People Programs Specialist on Google’s Talent Engagement team. “This challenge is about recognizing exceptional algorithmic thinking and problem-solving at a national scale.”
Open to engineering students across India, the large-scale virtual competition unfolds across four stages: First is a qualifying test, followed by two advanced coding rounds, and culminating in a final hackathon for the Top 50 finalists. “This event serves as a platform for engineering students to showcase their technical proficiency and real-world problem-solving capabilities,” Shivangi shares.
For students planning to participate, preparation matters. “To ace The Big Code, start by mastering your fundamentals,” Shivangi advises. “We are looking for super-strong logic in data structures and algorithms.” She also notes, “Since our qualifying round involves negative marking, you should prioritize precision over speed.” And finally, “Write clean, efficient code that handles edge cases well.” Registration for The Big Code Challenge is open now!.
