First few years we lived here, no bees. Only wasps. Over the past 6 years I’ve planted berry bushes and seeded the backyard with clover, flax, wheat, rye and buckwheat. Add in the garden, when we plant one, and year over year the past 4 years the bumblebees have returned to our yard in ever increasing numbers. This year I’ve even seen a few honey bees.
