Preventing Imran Khan from meeting his sisters is a clear violation of fundamental human rights. At present, the country is effectively under the rule of the jungle, and such conduct amounts to open barbarity. Under the jail manual, even prisoners involved in murder and other serious crimes are allowed to meet their families, yet Imran Khan former Prime Minister of the country, leader of the largest political party, and a national hero is being deprived of this basic right.Imran Khan is the leader who gave the nation world-class welfare institutions like Shaukat Khanum memorial cancer hospital and Namal University. He raised a strong and effective voice against Islamophobia at the United Nations, as a result of which the UN designated an International Day to Combat Islamophobia. Depriving such a leader of his constitutional and legal rights is not only condemnable but also extremely shameful, and no amount of condemnation is enough.
How was 2025?
Best for Pakistan’s elite who made fortunes with stock exchange reaching record high. And billions more in shady transactions in the sugar & wheat scandals.
But for the average Pakistani 2025 was surely the worst year. While rich were making billions, poor was getting poorer. Record high poverty at 45% (12 crore), record high unemployment & record erosion in purchasing power.
While salaries for parliamentarians & judges increased 400-500 %, wages for workers went down to the 2015 level.
So yes another fantastic year for the rich & ruling classes and the worst for poor and middle class.
Repeated use of water canons against Imran Khan’s sisters and PTI workers (including the elderly and young children) is despicable and in clear violation of the basic principles on the use of force by law enforcement personnel. International standards provide for requirements of necessity, proportionality and minimisation of harm. In the first instance, to even begin to justify the use of water canons, there would have to be a violent unlawful assembly which could not be dispersed through other means.
Why does the State of Pakistan feel like it can repeatedly use water canons against peaceful protestors in the freezing cold winter with no accountability or consequence? This is in glaring violation of Pakistan’s international human rights obligations under the ICCPR - which are tied to our GSP+ status.
The fact is that Pakistan has miserably failed to uphold its end of the bargain for GSP+ so why do we still have preferential access to European markets for our exports?
Justice Jahangari’s dismissal sets a dangerous precedent. It sends a message to other judges about the consequences of not aligning with the executive's will. Yahya's tenure as CJ will likely be remembered for the judiciary's capitulation.
There existed no legal, ethical or constitutional justification for the “transferred” judges of Islamabad High Court to hear or decide manufactured case against Hon’able Justice Jahangiri. This just goes to show how rotten the system has become, on one hand 16 years old son of a “transferred” judge can get away with killing two young women & on the other hand the “transferred” judges are absolutely comfortable & willing to humiliate their own institution by playing a role which is both questionable & unconstitutional.
Dear CM @SohailAfridi,
You are doing commendable work through regular surprise visits, which is truly beneficial for the people of the province & much needed.
A humble suggestion: please consider forming a trusted team of sincere, selfless volunteers from every district non-government individuals with no links to MPAs or MNAs who report directly to you.
Such a team could help deliver results in months instead of years, ensuring faster & more effective improvement.
A sincere request & suggestion.
Barrister Asad Rahim Khan says that this is a shameful episode in our judicial history, and it is still unfolding. Justice Jahangiri's persecution has nothing to do with his law degree, and everything to do with the fact that he would try and do justice to a stolen election.
"The charges against Iftikhar Chaudhry and Qazi Faez Isa were far more substantive and—in particular—stemmed from misconduct while in office, yet the principle still won out: that these judges were in the deep state's crosshairs over their judicial orders, and not over the allegations against them. Both were thus lent the benefit of context, and allowed to retain their office," he adds.
Barrister Asad Rahim Khan further states that in Justice Jahangiri's case, however, we see a retrospective fishing expedition. This Dogar Court will meet the same historical verdict the previous Dogar Court did," he adds.
@AsadRahim
I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and was an Army Officer for 5 years.
I was conditioned to believe all of the wars and conflicts the US has fought in were necessary to preserve freedom.
I am now of the firm position that most, if not all, of the conflicts the US has been involved in were largely under false pretenses, the public was severely misled, a boogeyman was shoved in the public’s faces to conjure support, and countless American and foreign lives were senselessly destroyed in the process.
Banking, multinational corporate interests, and shadowy control structures were likely the real reasons for these wars and conflicts.
JUDGE EATS JUDGE: The results of Asim Munir’s moth-eaten judiciary going to dogs, are now out in the public. In a simple dog-eat-dog case, two IHC judges have pounced on one of their own and like a cannibal gulped a senior judge, accusing him of having a “fake” degree that he got 35 years back and worked his way up as an advocate and judge to the Islamabad High Court.
His crime: Justice Jahangiri had asked for data that challenged the massive Feb 2024 rigging of polls that Imran Khan won hands down by a two-third majority.
What next: People waiting anxiously for the General-eats-General saga after Trump kicks Asim Munir in the back in the next few weeks, or days.
This guy Musharraf Zaidi is a disgrace and a turncoat. He is the perfect example of someone who sells his soul to the highest bidder. He toes the military's narrative shamelessly and is employed as the spin doctor by the puppet Government. His shit won't fly!
What happened in Bihar is not just a moment—it’s a message.
When a Chief Minister publicly pulls down a Muslim doctor’s hijab, it’s not “just a gesture.” It’s a violation of dignity, consent, and religious freedom. Dr. Nusrat Parveen deserved respect, not intrusion. Her hijab is not a barrier—it’s her choice, her honor.
We stand with every woman whose modesty is sacred. We stand for every faith that deserves respect. And we stand against any act—no matter how powerful the person—that strips away someone’s right to choose.
🧕🏽 Hijab is not a favor. It’s a right.
Consent is not optional. It’s fundamental.
📢 Faith is not weakness. It’s strength.

ASIM MUNIR'S MOMENT OF RECKONING: Prez Trump has finally summoned Asim Munir to the White House to get the decision when Pakistan will send troops to Gaza to disarm Hamas and Palestinians. Gen Asim Munir is sweating as he has no definite answer.
I asked SuperGrok what it means. The response: "The phrase "moment of reckoning" is an idiomatic expression referring to a critical or decisive time when someone must face the consequences of their past actions, decisions, or mistakes. It often implies a moment of judgment, accountability, realization, or settling of accounts—similar to the more common "day of reckoning," but emphasizing a specific instant rather than a broader period."
So soon we will know whether Asim Munir remains my best Field Marshal or is turned into a Zelenski in the Oval Office.
some winter clothes and food items were sent to Imran Khan yesterday, but jail authorities returned them… and then this government has the audacity to lie on international media, claiming he is not in solitary confinement.
The Napoleonic way to Hell!
Every military dictator thinks that they can rise through illegitimate and unpopular means, and once in power could rebuild legitimacy and popularity through 'performance'.
That’s the Napoleonic way, that all of them have taken inspiration from, but it’s not a simple plug and play.
Problem with the Napoleonic approach is that it only works when a dictator is an outsider with no stakes, nothing to hold back, and can upend the system to replace it with something radically new. That’s their core advantage.
But a dictator that’s already from within the rot, representing the status quo, and is in partnership with political dynasties is not only anti-revolutionary, but also anti-reforms.
Such a dictator has all downsides that come with being a dictator, and not a single upside in terms of what dictatorship provides in terms of an opportunity to disrupt.
In other words, status quo dictators are the weakest kind of dictators who aren’t here to change the 'business as usual' but here to preserve it.
This makes their rule fragile and deeply violent, because they can’t build their legitimacy through reforms, or meritocracy and instead have to rely on never ending wars to keep things moving for them.
They don’t last long, they can't last long.
Mosharraf Zaidi’s interview with Yalda Hakim on Sky News was riddled with misrepresentations & outright lies. He claimed Imran Khan’s sisters & lawyers had “hundreds of meetings” – but these were brief court interactions during trials, not proper family/lawyer meetings. Can’t call them “meetings” to downplay isolation!
Zaidi lied about access to personal doctors – denied despite restrictions. Lied about no solitary confinement when IK is in extreme isolation (“death cell” per family/UN concerns). Lied about sisters not being at jail – they were protesting outside, denied meetings! His whole segment was deceptive.
Zaidi tried fooling international audience with spin, but got exposed – even disowned his own past tweets calling IK’s arrest “disgraceful.” Now justifies detention as “national security” threat. What hypocrisy!
If we follow Zaidi’s logic: Ayub Khan stealing election from Fatima Jinnah was wrong – until 1965 India war made it “right” for security? Bhutto’s hanging wrong – until Soviet Afghanistan invasion/War justified it?
Such disgraceful, disgusting arguments! Retroactively excusing injustices because of later threats? Zaidi’s agenda exposed – defending the indefensible. Pakistan deserves truth, not lies. Free Imran Khan from political victimization!
Sending troops to #Gaza without an agreement with Palestinians would be a monumental blunder. Placing Pakistani troops in line of fire facing hamas will be immoral and strategically disastrous. Any such deployment must be with the consent of the Palestinians
