I agree that no country is self sufficient. Many countries have tried it in the past and failed. But it is a fact that most of the drugs arriving in the US come from Mexico. It is also a fact that most ilegal immigration to the US comes via Mexico and Canada.
These two problems need to stop. Canada & Mexico have had many decades to fix this problems but they haven’t done so. Now there’s no choice.
I’m no fan of tariffs and I don’t want a tariff war, but no one can deny that Mexico & Canada have not done enough to fix those problems for decades. If they had done so, these problems would not exist today.
