Thanks to the latest round of LLMs, I was able to throw together a proof of concept for something I've been thinking about for a while
Non-transferrable ERC-1155s on bonding curves. I think it's a great way to do game skins for several reasons
- Always liquid, no need to accept a lowball bid or list your item for days
- Easy for any game to integrate because it is a standard ERC-1155, so big indexing APIs provide metadata for devs to download and cache users' files
- Price increases with every buy, so if somebody buys after you, you are often ensured to be able to sell for a profit (depending on fees & curve)
- While an artist can't directly list the NFTs for a fixed price, and you can't trade them on an alternative marketplace, you can guarantee "royalties" over time via fees
I built a quick Halo 3 style multiplayer game to demonstrate how a UGC avatar marketplace can be used in production
Avatars can be uploaded and listed by anyone, but individual user settings define which quality of avatar is visible. If a user running a low end device chooses to only see optimized avatars, then heavy ones will fall back to the default avatar in games, inspired by VRChat
This is something that I wish AAA games would implement rather than creating a walled garden of skins that can't be taken anywhere else, and in my opinion, this direction is inevitable
Although AI is enabling us to hallucinate any 3d avatar into existence, blockchains can provide a receipt of authenticity, and open file formats like .vrm give us a reliable way to implement avatars across games with ease
Please note that this was a 2 day project and is running on a cheap server. I will only expand features if there is demand. The contract is "audited" by Opus 5.5 Ultracode. Please report bugs in https://t.co/92nQMX0xmy

This guy is building an open source smart gym!
I've been thinking about upgrading my basic home gym to a smart gym like this but they're too expensive. This would be great.

Gunfrog is a bullet-time shooter mini-game where you play as a gunslinging frog with a grappling tongue!
This project is mostly an experiment for me to try out @gdechichi's new Kaigen3D engine, and so far I'm pretty impressed! Here's my thoughts after playing around with it:
- It's really fast to preview and compile.
- Performance has been great in my tests so far.
- The default character and environment presets look great out of the box! This means a lot IMO.
- I noticed that all the frontier models seem to be really good at working with it, maybe because the engine runs on C and AI frontier models are great at C.
- I bought some assets for this game and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to wire everything up.
- The game isn't optimised for mobile yet, so it's best played on desktop for now with mouse and keyboard
- The enemies actually try to take cover and wait for opportunities to attack you. It's not the smartest enemy AI, but pretty decent!
Overall, I've had a lot of fun experimenting with the engine and making this little game.
You can play Gunfrog on Wavedash here (PC desktop only for now):

If you told me I would be doing Destiny 2's Garden of Salvation linking in Warframe and then playing Fall Guys in FFXIV at any point in my life, I would have laughed at you
And here we are
it still needs some more work, but this entire setup is only ~21k triangles (before instancing of duplicate parts), all done without a single manual action by me in blender, with Opus 5.5, will likely add these ostalgie assets i'm making with him to eidoverse-video later and probably make some more fun videos that bring together these assets
this is the robotron 1715 pc, btw, a 1980s home computer from communist east germany (GDR/DDR), the GDR had the most advanced computing in the whole eastern bloc, these were essentially perfectly equivalent to western brands, often reverse-engineered from them
i've had a story-driven shooter rpg game idea for *years* that has always been totally beyond the scope of any individual to create, these assets are relevant to that world and it feels like we're starting to get to the level where a solo dev can, if they actually have the passion to, with the help of the ais, create full AAA scale games over a reasonable period of time
The pause Lewis Hamilton took in between his typical thank you speech really shows how frustrated he was and he has every right to feel that way especially when Ferrari has ruined his chance to win for the third time.
But what’s the issue with Fred Vasseur for him to give backhanded comments about him? If anything, Fred Vasseur and Ferrari should be thanking him for coming up with a good strategy and managing to finish with a podium.
