Companies should allow WFH in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. If physical presence isn’t needed, there’s no point wasting time, energy, and money battling traffic and poor infrastructure. Half your energy is wasted just reaching office.

Tourists carry India's reputation when they go abroad. Sadly, India and Indians don't really have good reputation abroad and such incidences by a few Indians only makes it worse.

8. Don't block the aisle and the seats.

Let the front seat passengers get down before you rush. You won't waste a lot of time by being polite.

You can't keep a hankie and block a seat on buses. That's cheating!

Almost a decade ago, most locals I met in SE Asia complained about Chinese tourists.

Now they complain about Indian tourists.

We carry India's reputation with us wherever we go.

7. Smile more

Smiling at strangers is okay. It need not mean anything more than being human to each other.

6. Be a sport

A lot of young Indians have naive perceptions about foreigners. I once had because of the surroundings that lacked exposure. If you get attracted to someone during a trip and it's not reciprocated, learn to handle the rejection. It's okay.

5. Don't drink beyond your limit

Due to the limitations at home, a lot of people don't know how much they can drink. They break loose while traveling abroad and create chaos.

4. Be open to new experiences

By expecting Indian food and Indian-ness in everything we do abroad, we miss out on a local experience. The beauty of traveling lies in new experiences, not familiarity.

3. Be sensitive

Be sensitive to the local culture and language. Don't be racist, even as a joke. Be respectful and kind.

2. Don't litter

It's just a bag. I can't see a dustbin. It's okay they will clean the roads tomorrow anyways.

These are not good enough excuses to litter.

Don't spit on the road. It's not cool.
