Microsoft just gave Copilot Studio a MUCH higher ceiling.

Makers now choose the HARNESS.

Copilot Studio has 2:

1) Standard for structured conversations and rule-based work

2) GitHub Copilot for complex, long-horizon business processes

The GitHub Copilot harness is GA now for production use.

It brings the coding and reasoning capabilities behind Copilot Cowork and the GitHub Copilot coding agent into Copilot Studio.

Agentic loops. Skills. Workflows. MCP. Connected agents. File creation and editing. Frontier models.

Read the billing before you build.

GitHub Copilot harness usage is billed through Copilot Credits regardless of M365 Copilot licensing. Building, previewing, testing and evaluating can all consume credits.

And the harness choice sticks. You cannot transfer an agent between GitHub Copilot and Standard later.

Harness selection is now an architecture AND cost decision.

Copilot Studio is cooking.

It was a very strong close to what was a record fiscal year for Microsoft.

I wanted to share some more perspective on two areas of focus for us:

Today, we are announcing a series of updates that give customers frontier-grade security at half the cost.

MAI-Cyber-1-Flash is our first cybersecurity model, built ground up to find the most challenging vulnerabilities in complex code bases. When combined with MDASH, it delivers world-class performance at 50 percent of the cost of leading models.

We are bringing this capability to market through Project Perception, a complete agentic security offering grounded in real-world signals and security workflows. Teams of specialized agents work together to simulate attacks, detect and triage/investigate, and fix and remediate.

This is the benefit of building the harness, context/signals, and action space separate from one model family. By combining specialized models and data with the right agents, tools, security context, and harness, we can advance the frontier of cost to outcome.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's new interivew: Explains how the next AI moat will not be the model you use, but the learning loop only your company can run.

He is really asking what happens to the firm when intelligence becomes something you can rent.

For a century, companies protected value through people, processes, data, routines, customer memory, and the tacit knowledge buried in daily operations.

Foundation models threaten to flatten that advantage because the same general intelligence can be used by everyone.

Nadella’s answer is that firms need their own “hill climbing machine,” a private loop where models learn from company-specific tasks, traces, evaluations, and outcomes.

That means the real asset is not just the model.

The asset is the environment that keeps improving the model in ways competitors cannot copy.

Private evals become strategic memory.

Workflow traces become training signal.

Human judgment becomes a way to steer compounding, not just correct mistakes.

This also reframes AI adoption: a company that only consumes a foundation model may gain productivity, but it may leak the deeper value of its operating knowledge.

A company that builds a disciplined learning loop can turn everyday work into accumulating IP.

The future firm may therefore be measured by how well it converts its unique activity into durable model improvement.

The frontier will not belong only to whoever owns the largest model.

It will belong to whoever owns the best loop.

i'm obsessed with AI DIY projects

my favorite one right now is this guy who built an AI system that listens for birds outside his apartment, figures out what species they are, and paints them on his wall.

here's how the whole thing works:

1. a cheap usb mic on his balcony listens for birdsong 24/7

2. BirdNET, Cornell's AI model trained on 6,000+ species, names each bird species from the sound alone (no camera needed)

3. every time it hears one, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image paints that exact bird in the style of an Edo-period japanese woodblock print

4. the new painting drops into a live collage of everything that's been singing outside in the last 24 hours

5. and it all shows up on a framed e-ink display on his wall that reads "heard today" like a little museum placard for his neighborhood

knowing which birds visit you used to take a field guide, a trained ear, plus years of patient practice.

teddy just glances at the frame on his wall and sees the cardinal came back this morning
