If Larkin would be willing to accept any trade to Philly, if you can you basically have to do it, and if you can't you probably need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself where you're really at as an organization
@oandbpuck I really like the way Barkey has progressed the last few years, but probably not that close. Benson was a top-5 talent in his draft year, his playmaking, vision, and puck skills are all well ahead
Barkey can be a 2C if everything breaks well. Benson could be a top-10 NHL winger
@SuitableAlias Matthews or Thomas? I'm angry but I'll get over it
Robertson? I'm extremely angry but I'll see how it plays out
Brady Tkachuk? Shanghai Dragons have a new full time fan
@SuitableAlias That part of his game kind of reminds me of Kuznetzov, not many players with the timing and vision to hit a cross ice wall player from the goal line that quickly and consistently.I think Martone will fill that role amazingly once the coaching staff realizes that as a possibility
@dsilver88 My favorite Michkov stat this year is that of all forwards who played 15:50/game or less (he played 14:50 FTR), he had the 2nd most points in the NHL.
Needs to stop taking penalties, needs to get faster in transition. Also needs more ice time.
Next year needs to be a new slate
@SuitableAlias Gotta think Barkey and/or Bonk would be involved, selling the idea of Toronto having a foundation of young guys who previously won together (with Cowan) could be enticing for them
All of Barkey, Bump and Michkov have gotten better and better as the playoffs have gone on. Martone has had his ups and downs, but he's getting great lessons along the way. Drysdale and York have hit another level these playoffs.
This was always the goal this season
All things considered, PHI played a hell of a game last night. Went toe to toe with arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference.
These are valuable games of experience for young teams - even in losing efforts.
@Situation2800@SuitableAlias His point is that theoretically if all of this is true & the coaching staff feels the same way to the degree that he's their least used forward at 5v5 and a healthy scratch: maybe try to trade him for the 2nd best defenseman in the sport???
@hostagejoe@CarryOn96@SuitableAlias He's a scoring forward playing 10 minutes a night while posting slightly below even results. I don't think it's reasonable in any way to say he's actively played his way into being benched this series, he never had any real shot of winning minutes with this game plan
@CarryOn96@hostagejoe@SuitableAlias Couturier's line has been outstanding in the Crosby matchups and they're getting by as well as they need to offensively so far, so I really don't have a problem with the current gameplan.
If we end up against the Canes next series though? They'll need to get Mich more mins
@SuitableAlias You would think the Flyers are 0-2 in this series with Michkov having a double digit xGA the way people are talking about his 20 minutes of ice time this series
@hostagejoe@SuitableAlias That reason being the head coach hyper-prioritizing defensive play over anything even slightly resembling risk on the offensive side of the game...?
I really don't have a problem with his minutes right now, they're 2-0. But at this point Michkov can't do much to change that
Always dissapointing to see a take on my timeline that is so egregiously bad that it's literally impossible to come close to breaking down everything wrong with it within the character limit
Stephen.
Tony wouldn't come after Tony if Tony were you.
As a matter of fact, Stephen.
Why don't you come on down to Philly & Tony will put you to work.
You can be Tony's delivery boy & help hand out sweet, beautiful cannoli to Flyers fans everywhere.
Sound good, Stephen?
