A great time at #treescapes24, fantastic work being done by teams across the UK and beyond. Proud of the STAND team's work on reconciling national #tree expansion targets with local realities with an interdisciplinary approach #forests#nature#landscape#skills#research
Great day finishing up our second stakeholder workshop in the north Penines exploring treescap expansions scenarios in local #landscapes. Fascinating chat picking a part co-developed models. The STAND project team was awesome! #trees#forests#nature#NetZero
It's a pricking out extravaganza at the nursery as all the Alpine Blue-Sow-Thistle and Elm seedlings have germinated. Our wonderful volunteers, Olly and Kathryn, were busy today getting all the seedlings in their own pots π± @NatureScot@ScotGovNetZero@TheBotanics
Awesome surprise @UHI_Inverness staff conference, local community champion and three times (current) World's Strongest Man Tom Spicy Stoltman! Apparently lives across the Firth from me. Very #Inspiring and #motivating! #CommunityImpact#mindset

@milesbgoodman@UHI_Inverness@ThinkUHI@PlantsRbge@HistEnvScot@NatureScot@HighlandCouncil Hi Miles, good to know, it could be that they are a little remote and avoided DED, that diversity of woodlands is helping or that they could have some type of resilient the beetle or fungus. Nonetheless would be great to identify and record large surviving elms in Perthshire!
Awesome to see the progeny of the Beauly Priory 800 year old wych elm and the seedling pollinated from two resilient wych elms in the Borders planted - great work from the Scottish Rare Plants team #trees#nature#restoration
Visited a 1.5 hectare site by Loch Rannoch where a new #foodforest is being created with Earthself, local estate, community and @UHI_Inverness. Great project looking forward to the new challenge!
My collaboration with daughter for #WorldBookDay, we had to draw #superheroes, she has a bit of a fear of flies, so we made Super Venus Flytrap Girl...she does like Spiders because they eat flies.
