Jodi Habush Sinykin has officially WON her race for Wisconsin Senate District 8!
We are so thrilled for our brilliant candidate and the community she represents.
Congratulations, @Jodi4Senate!
We must not delude ourselves in this moment. Multiracial democracy in the United States is less than 60 years old. It has always been contested, often violently so. It has always been fragile. Since this nation's inception large swaths of white Americans -- including white women -- have claimed a belief in democracy while actually enforcing a white ethnocracy. In the face of shifting demographics where white Americans will lose their numeric majority, we see a growing embrace of autocracy to keep the "legitimate" rulers of this country in power. History teaches us that we are in a perilous moment.
Very proud of my wife and daughters, my friends and co-workers, my home state of Illinois, my adopted state of New York, and every single one of my fellow Americans who voted against him.
Want an example of a broken system? Florida DIDN’T “reject” the proposal to include a right to abortion in the constitution — they voted 58.2% in favor of abortion rights. But it needed 60% to pass, so it failed WITH A MAJORITY.
Can’t imagine what Florida women must be thinking.
Nearly 121,000 absentee and provisional ballots are still outstanding in Ohio. If you haven't yet returned your mail-in/absentee ballot, you have until 7:30 p.m. TONIGHT to bring it to your COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS--NOT your usual polling place.
So let’s all do everything in our power over these last few hours. Vote like your lives depend on it. If there’s someone in your life you’ve been meaning to talk to, now is the time. Send your loved ones a text or give them a call to make sure they’ve voted. Head on down to the local campaign office and do one last volunteer shift. Time is running out for us to make an impact on this election — so if you’re feeling anxious or worried, get out there and #DoSomething!
This fictional "quote" is 100% fabricated.
It's one more lie in the stream of right-wing lies designed to undermine our election. Despite this actionable libel and all the disinformation, America is having a free and fair election and Congress will certify the winner.
