Watching this tonight it’s hard not to be reminded of the moments that shaped @MDPSecretariat ’s rise. The energy the crowd and the belief people have in former President @MohamedNasheed are impossible to ignore.

Despite imprisonment, exile, and even an assassination attempt, he never stepped away from public life or gave up on the causes he believes in. Looking at this crowd tonight, it’s clear that many people have not given up on him either.

The message from the streets is clear.
