@schmitt4545@FrStephenImb You lost me at the slur about ‘mentally handicapped’. That tells me everything I need to know. I work with intellectually disabled people and they are truly beautiful children of God who teach me every single day. Shame on you. Your pride will be your fall.
@stashu394@BreeSolstad We know what Christ told us; what God clearly commanded. Beyond that, Old Testament laws (eg, not mixing fabrics, not eating shellfish) were a product of the era in many ways. The law was fulfilled in Christ’s coming.
@HiltsTern@BreeSolstad That’s simply a childish ad hominem. Is that the only response you have? Are you sad because we have solid historical information?
@PaxRomana773312@ChristineNiles1 It’s interesting that many of us read the text and weren’t confused. The additional context of Francis publicly saying that gay people can’t marry and homosexual acts are sinful, is consistent.
@PaxRomana773312@ChristineNiles1 In a Church of 1.4 billion you are cherry picking. The Church body will always be human. Sin will always be present - look at the ongoing sexual abuse, including in ‘trad’ (as self-identified) circles. Sowing discord by saying - look the Church is terrible, is wrong.
@Li6ertyFan@FrStephenImb God sends us challenges everyday. Maybe your heart is being challenged to consider your judgements. The people around you are your brothers and sisters.
@schmitt4545@FrStephenImb You seem to be deeply distracted and forgetting about the core of the mass. These are really subjective claims and paint a picture of you sitting in mass, head swivelling, judging. You could catch that, bow your head, pray. Your brothers and sisters are imperfect just like you.
@Teaguemobile@austeni Francis wanted people to commit, in a world where there is no commitment. The Church body is the people, the head is Christ. This has never changed.
@Faithful2Pray@austeni Restriction has occurred because of weaponisation of the liturgy. A necessary move due to abusers, sadly. This is why we can’t have nice things. Funnily, I live outside the US and there has been zero issue around my local TLM, because people just behave like adults.
