@DCPoliceDept When you pull people over, please team up with @DCDPW to impound their cars if they are tow-eligible for unpaid speeding or other tickets!
@joe5f6@joshjacobsondc Another 311 problem is that ouc only allows agencies to update the issues or questions 311 routes to it once a year. User experience (whether the user is the public or internal DC gov clients) is not a priority
@DCDPW@311DCgov@BrianneKNadeau@charlesallen@DC_OCA It's gone this morning. DC lost the chance to get a dangerously driven car off the street and make $5000+ in the process. This is why we need night and weekend towing.
If only @DCDPW towed at night, it could get this car parked in the underpass just north of 600 4th Street SW. It's the one with a massively cracked windshield, shockingly enough. @311DCgov@BrianneKNadeau@charlesallen@DC_OCA

@DC_OCA@DCDPW@DDOTDC@MayorBowser@DCMOCRS@DCVisionZero You barely boot/tow nights and weekends, and 311 has no way to report tow-eligible vehicles legally parked on public streets. Tow lots are full, you're slow to sell impounded vehicles, and you don't check for tow eligibility when ticketing. You & @councilofdc should do better.
@Meagan_Flynn@jennygathright Does the report discuss crimes in MPD stats vs. other agencies? I witnessed a shooting where there's a PD-251, but MPD won't include it on crimecards because they say DCHA police are in charge. I'm not sure the shooter and the people and cars hit were all on DCHA property.
@tjl Fine with me. Or halve the fines and double the towing of cars that rack up a lot of tickets...run tow crews nights and weekends too! Having actual consequences shapes behavior.

@mitchryals@DCPoliceDept Look into the cases that don't show up on crimecards because they're handled by dcha police or others. I witnessed a shooting last year where two people were hit and it's not counted in mpd stats even though they responded and took a report. How many other cases are like this?
@DCAttorneyGen go to the Mall and deal with the unlicensed food trucks--consumer protection, tax evasion, unpaid speeding/parking tickets, idling, dumping grease into storm drains, and health code violations all in one place!
Will @DDOTDC and @wmata ever remove the bus shelters at places that no longer have bus stops? 4th and G SW and the west side of Delaware and M SW are my top examples. Put the shelters where the bus stops! @charlesallen@SWBID@DCMID_SW

@DC_OCA The graphic you posted shows a YoY increase in ADW+homicides. How does this match with your statement that shooting victims are down? Are people being stabbed, beaten, etc. rather than shot?
@snoopsbraid@DCPoliceDept@fme9320@TheDMVLive@DCDPW I hope you never get injured by a speeding car and that if you do, it has insurance. Too many people in DC experience real hardship of being physically and financially harmed by bad drivers. Following the laws is not hardship.
@DCPoliceDept@fme9320@TheDMVLive@DCDPW I wish it were true that once located it's booted or towed, but I've reported so many tow-eligible vehicles to 311 that at best get yet another ticket. I wish DC were more serious about this and that mpd looked for and impounded tow eligible vehicles at its traffic checkpoints.
@RiniSampath Will you add a feature currently lacking: the ability to report tow-eligible vehicles that are currently legally parked? And will you get @dcdpw to prioritize towing those vehicles, inclined on nights and weekends?
@maustermuhle Generous of you to assume the driver was insured. There is a bill before council now to increase insurance minimums, because if he was, it's likely not for much.
