The windmill (fān shēn 翻身) is a signature movement in classical Chinese dance. Unlike ordinary spins, it rotates on a vertical axis, with the dancer's body tilted as if soaring through the air.
When executed with speed and precision, it creates the stunning illusion of a high-speed windmill in flight.
