Despite a challenging year, Team Savior continues to bring the dream of this 80s kid to life. To everyone who has stuck with us: thank you.
We’re fighting to the end. Happy 2025!
@day_patch Yes, I played through half of Katana...thanks for the reminder.
I don't care for hit-stops...but I know they are in the biggest modern MetroidVanias.
Anyone have examples of 'dramatic' slow-mo working well in 2D-Action games? I love the idea of it, but it's been tricky to make it not annoying in the heat of battle.

@Liquish40 Thanks for sticking with us long enough to catch that. I don't even think we improved it : O
We've got lots more newer clips over at https://t.co/e6BNccl3ua
I invite you to poke around.
@SongbirdPro@johnnycookiedoe Thanks for the feedback. My thinking was that the slow-down would trigger when you'd hit the dodge perfectly, then you'd get a reward for that (other than not getting skewered by an arrow).
@johnnycookiedoe Thanks for the feedback Teemu. I want to experiment with tying a reward to the slow-down, and/or making it part of a powerful, rarely used move.
@TVGBL Thanks for your patience...I made some colossal mistakes...but I spent the last 18 months fixing those mistakes. We're headed in a much better direction now.
We’re back — with a new site!

For the first time, Savior will be fully on display: progress, plans, and unfinished edges included (still filling it in!).
We hope transparency beats hype.
I invite you to come poke around 👀.
Ray, you made my day.
I won't discontinue the game, as long as I'm physically and mentally capable of continuing.
We're deep in a crucial tech overhaul. The core reason the game has taken so long is our tech/complexity debt had spiraled out of control.
Because I didn't know how code.
I've spent the last year learning C# and our code base. I've also been re-writing our systems so they're simpler and more performant.
Big things are coming.
This isn't going to be the game we Kickstarted... it's shaping up to be much more special.
@profoundbad Thanks...yeah. That trailer took us a while to put together. But the majority of those shots don't represent the current state of the art in the game.
I was thinking of starting with adding SFX/Music to our GIFs and re-releasing them on YouTube/Facebook shorts.
@MagoryNET So glad you like it! Our animator used a bunch of sorcery to make that happen. I think an ancient 3D modeling program with fabric simulators may have been invoked.
