Jürgen Habermas, regarded as the greatest political philosopher in Europe, has written a text on its major contemporary crisis, the war in Ukraine. His thesis has directed German discourse away from realities of the past and possibilities of the present.

Hehe, apart from the screaming idiocy of equating the mentalities of 🇷🇺 and 🇺🇦 the Soviets actually lost the war in Afghanistan. What's the excuse there? Given that the statement of this grey blob implies that the Afghani fighters were inferior.
Russian senator Frants Klintsevich has an ingenious new excuse for his country's slow progress in Ukraine
He says Ukraine's army is "one of the strongest and best-trained" because it's comprised of "Russian soldiers and officers with exactly our mentality"

Thanks to @biogasdanmark and @twitter I have involuntarily watched this cow take a shit many times and I still do not understand how anyone concluded that this was a good idea. 😶
"Other people are there to be colonized. Russia is innocent because of its ancient past. The existence of Ukraine is an international conspiracy. War is the answer."
Russia, says @TimothyDSnyder, meets the definition of fascism

@NikaMelkozerova The same set of mixed feelings as when your friends who are professional diplomats with relevant education get into top government positions and you with your career in show business are not invited to play?
@PaulNiland Somehow this logic is hard to get for people not living in Ukraine and not speaking Ukrainian or Russian. It is a funny surrealistic feeling when as a Ukrainian or person having experience with Ukraine one has to listen to statements arguing for separatism/civil war/nazism in UA.
@anneapplebaum@radeksikorski@McFaul Unfortunately the debate spent most of its time discussing outdated points such as 🇷🇺 security interests using a western way of thinking. The truth is that it does not apply. It is also dangerous for @McFaul to find his hero in @navalny. These problems are deeply rooted in 🇷🇺.
