Yesterday, as part of activities marking our third year anniversary in office, we commissioned several major road projects across Umuahia North and Umuahia South LGAs.

These roads, once in deplorable condition, have now been reconstructed and expanded to the highest standards, complete with solar-powered street lighting, proper drainage, and markings to ensure durability and safety.

The projects include:

- Orpet–Umuafai–Lodu–Ahiaeke–Ndume Road
- Ahiaeke–Okwuta–Bende Road (now J.O.J Okezie Road)
- Madonna–Enyiukwu–Afara Ring Road
- Justice Okoroafor Close, Afara
- Library Avenue Road (newly reconstructed and expanded) connecting Club Road
- Umubioko–Amakama Road
- Nsukwe–Umuogo Road
- Tower–Onuimo Road (now Uma Ukpai Way)

In honour of two great sons of Abia, we renamed the Ahiaeke–Okwuta–Bende Road as J.O.J Okezie Road, and the dualised Tower–Onuimo Road as Uma Ukpai Way, to immortalize their legacies in public service, faith, and humanitarian impact.

Special mention goes to Craneburg Construction Company for the quality of work executed on the Tower–Onuimo Road, and Orpet-Umuafai-Lodu-Ahiaeke Ndume Road. These projects are pathways to growth, improved traffic flow, and enhanced socio-economic development for our people.

I sincerely appreciate the patience and resilience of our communities during the reconstruction period.
