@ZionistAF2 @Urs__01 Simplified, and as someone who enjoys being on bikes: motorcyclist is committing multiple felonies; car, at most, a ticket, in most situations would just be told to turn lights on. And if you think DRLs are “new” then you haven’t done this for a living in 25+ years

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@LindseyGrahamSC One benefit of going from north to south will be getting to vote against you 😊 tho I have yet to find anyone who’s voted FOR you, so why are you here sending our kids to die when you have no idea what it’s like to be a parent, especially one of a serviceman?

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@WhiteHouse Thanks for keeping one of “my” kids extended for a third time, activating my friends so they have to leave their kids for the desert & a whole bunch of SOF vets from Bragg who you’ve completely lost if they were once for you. Great meme

@AndrewZywiecMD I don’t even know where my certificate from Golden Key is. Nor any other honor society/award. Only stuff I have framed are degrees (excluding Bachelor’s - should find that too). We all do these things differently, rightly so. Am I correct in seeing 2 degrees in there?

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@mbeisen Haha. Was explaining how citing should work earlier & mentioned “supposedly read”

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@DrJBhattacharya @message2garcia @Nature With all due respect, wouldn’t this mean funding replication studies more? Not a new problem, but a problem. Funding score on a replication study vs novel idea… Then there’s the difficulty of publishing studies with null results in highly cited journals

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@HSB_Lab @Nature Haha, as a Latina my last name doesn’t give that. Should put ethnicity, race, gender, college grad generation, etc after my name? This is ridiculous, has nothing to do with why people pick citations (hopefully), another hurdle to writing… “don’t just cite your buddies” - I get

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@evilokapi @fake_journals Bench scientist, I agree fully. Also think it’d be hard, but far from impossible. And before assuming something (given we’re not shown # of pubs/year, field…) I’m not going to assume the worst without more info. Not going to assume either way without more info, actually

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@evilokapi @fake_journals Would definitely not say no one after COVID, COVID vax pubs, etc. I just looked at someone who got their PhD same year I did (2022), not a COVID researcher, know for a fact no manipulation, & far from 40’s, but 20. How many projects can a statistician be on at once?

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@MichaelJHempp @Kanthan2030 @WhiteHouse You don’t know me, but I have been 👋

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@UlrichJvV Lion cub & lioness crossing in front of me (not great pic, but I was told I couldn’t leave the car to go up to lions), in the exact park you’re talking about! Somewhere I have a cool pic of a giraffe with skyscrapers in the background

@NONGMOGOM @simonmaechling @SunnyDa53524605 They’re called a student (on academic probation or soon to be expelled)

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@EagleZeroX @wantthepfunk @jose_baluarte @RepGregMurphy I’m saying why there is such a discrepancy in sickle cell trait in the USA in one racial group (per the request above), which is not ubiquitous when looking at global trends for SCD

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@wantthepfunk @jose_baluarte @EagleZeroX @RepGregMurphy Very rough explanation of why that same phenomenon is/is not seen in certain regions, but character restrictions, not proofing, & hopefully easy enough to follow ✌️

[Stef T-M, PhD @Steftyem]

@wantthepfunk @jose_baluarte @EagleZeroX @RepGregMurphy …with endemic malaria & a more mixed population such as the Arabian peninsula or Turkey. There you are likely to find more similar numbers of both white & black people who carry the gene
