@DeputyGrocott My dad was laid off in the 1990s, qualified electrician when the shipyards were closing.
They told him to retrain and to get a trade! He told them he has one! Thankfully the shipyard guys looked after each other and he was back in work quickly! Absolutely crazy some of it!

@GuyEmma68700 I don’t think it’s the union that would never allow it. It’s the complete lack of funding. Schools rely on good will from teachers for extra curricular activities. You would need to employ so many more staff to achieve this.

@SarahCholwill @terrymccorry In my school the policy allows for students with medical issues such as type 1 diabetes to still have their phone and be exempt.

@CasinoCapital But they will study all 3 in combined science and achieve 2 GCSEs. Separates is a little beneficial if students are going to do A-levels but the content is taught again as part of the A level programme. Combined science is already much more rigorous than previous GCSE sci quals.

I absolutely don’t think leaders should make up for a company’s incompetence but just wondered?

@its_lady_c Logistics totally different. I see the small private school van go round collecting kids, employed by the school. The local scholars for the state school doesn’t then go for normal time let alone 7am start! Different contracts for staff!

@Megsenmumdr We actually only know what hsppened a year later when they finally reviewed her in clinic and said it was on the scan. It explains her symptoms but she nearly starved to death because of lack of diagnosis

@Megsenmumdr My mother very nearly died in a similar scenario. 2 week pathway, all clear, but her symptoms were worse, I couldn’t get support anywhere. She was starving to death before my eyes. No matter how much I shouted no help. Turns out gall stones were on her scan but no one knew!
