@LoftusSteve@alansritchie All pensions are a transfer of resources from the working age population to the retirement age population.
Goods and services produced in the current time period being consumed in that same time period.
The precise financial structure used makes no differen to that.
@RobNoLastName Because almost all socially useful work is already done-albeit in too little quantity- by people with actual jobs, which would over time be eradicated and replaced by involuntary 'social contribution' labour.
@ThePurpIeKnight@EverybodyIsWron@ArtemisConsort@grok I wouldn't say SWF are for managed decline. They are where you put excess funds from exports once a country has already allocated the maximum amount to internal development without incurring inflation due to excess demand for labour
@MDC12345678 The government urgently needs to address the catastrophic over-judicialisation and distributed vetoes that prevent decisive government action.
@cremieuxrecueil Experts evaluate it as a standalone when it needs to be evaluated as one plank in an overarching housing market intervention aimed at replacing the private rented sector with a non-social public landlord
@Lozzymandias@worstall You can actually do better.
Reduce cap on pension contributions below the level higher rate taxpayers wish to contribute.
Create new 0% 10-year retail bond with salary sacrifice + 50% employer match, maturing into a SIPP or other designated pension fund.
@browser_things You have misunderstood me entirely. The first clause would allow a c1s woman to compete regardless of her natural testosterone levels, provided she does not transition to male.
The second clause would apply to trans women or to detrans FTMTF women.
@browser_things@speakoutsister Assigned female at birth and not transitioned to male; or
Testosterone levels <=1.5nmol/L continuously for >=2years and confirmed as meeting that level annually and prioritise to major international tournaments.
@AmeliaSaturn@_aria1_@knottedhairs No. Puberty blockers - aka GnRH agonists - stop *production* of sex hormones by the gonads by supressing LH and FSH production. They do not block cells' testosterone or oestrogen receptors.
@AndieforIndie I was answering your question of why at the time they would have been (and in my opinion, still ought to be) prescribed to a 16 year-old.
@AndieforIndie GnRH agonists are/were a standard treatment for trans people in the UK prior to SRS, regardless of age. They are the single most effective pharmacological treatment for suppressing natal sex hormones.
@melmeldaraccoon @Sof_Everlasting It doesn't matter whether you personally have that impression. If something could plausibly create the impression among the wider public that trans women look like men, it is categorically harmful to trans women.
@ranrampant@sillybutch@FoggyMoment Being trans does not necessarily mean being queer. Plenty of trans women do not identify as queer, and not just because of the historical usage as a slur but because they genuinely aren't.
@ASFleischman I would have acquitted on the basis that testimony by a police officer functionally is an accusation by the state. By itself, it is not evidence.
@ednewtonrex How about option 4?
Preserve existing copyright protection for human-created works, but make all works generated in whole or in part by AI immediately public domain.
@datadriven_tdoc@talibotz What I mean is that circumcision reduces the amount of material to work with, which makes it more difficult to get a satisfactory result from PI technique vaginoplasty.
@FutureCassandra@MarxistHeathen A transsexual person is a person who has undergone, is undergoing, or proposes to undergo a medical process or part of such a process to change physiological attributes of sex.
