@piersmorgan Donald who? Isn’t he the guy who said he had destroyed the Iranian Army, Navy and Airforce, Yet the Americans were still being attacked by Iranian Army, Navy and Airforce!
I don’t believe a word that guy says. And you Piers are also too clever to believe a word he says.

Does a 2007 communication to #BP pensioners about a significant change in #pension policy and referred to by @bp_plc in February 2024 actually exist? Or is it a misleading statement?
Will @bp_plc finally acknowledge that it is time to meet and have a proper dialogue with its pensioners, resolve the issue and repair the damage to its reputation?
Our thanks to @amcarmichaelMP for leading this excellent debate. #BPpensions
Almost unbelievable how 3 guys get together and decide to take on the might of BP. Thank you indeed for your forethought. And thank you to the group of 6 driving this forward.

A grieving father is suing BP for his son's death, linking the tragedy to gas flaring at a BP-operated oil field in Iraq. Despite promises at the 2023 AGM to reduce flaring, daily black smoke sightings continue. What will BP say at the 2024 AGM?

@bppensioner@bp_plc knows it made promises to its employees & that the pension fund can fulfil those. It also knows there is an increasingly high profile debate about the moral expectations of companies like @bp_plc in that situation. yet they continue to bury their heads in the sand 🫣

RUSSIA IS DEFEATABLE. NOW MORE THAN EVER. #Putin himself knows that as well, which is exactly why he resorts to propaganda and empty nuclear threats (out of the old KGB concept toolbox) when he lacks real military strength. As history teaches us: ❗️RUSSIA IS A HISTORICAL LOSER STATE, each time the Russian army is not helped but confronted with uncompromising strength. A little look into the past from 1914 to 1989 shows us the necessary lesson for our present in 2024:
1) In the Second World War, it was the massive arms support from the Americans that enabled the Soviet Union to go on the offensive. As part of the law of February 18, 1941 called "Lend-Lease Act No. 1776", the US Congress decided to provide military support to the Russians on a lend-lease basis (by the way, the last repayment was not made until 2006). Among other weapons and goods, the Americans delivered to the Russians (from 1941 to 1945):
7,172 tanks, 11,450 aircraft and 5,762 anti-aircraft weapon systems to fight the Nazis.
2) In World War I, no one helped the Russian military industry... and Russia lost the war.
3) In the Russo-Finnish War of 1939-1940, no one helped the Russians, and the Finns inflicted devastating losses to the "undefeatable" Red Army that failed to conquer Finland.
4) In the war of the USSR against the Mujahideen (from 1979 to 1989) no one helped Russia, and the "undefeatable" NUCLEAR POWER USSR lost the war.
5) During the Cold War, the USSR and the Warsaw Pact were considered "undefeatable" by many commentators, and the Russian side repeatedly made massive NUCLEAR threats (e.g. the Cuban Missile Crisis).
And? What was the outcome?
Exactly.
The "undefeatable" Russians and their "Warsaw Pact" literally imploded because the USA (especially President Reagan) overarmed them to the point where the Russian arms industry had to take up so much budget money that the entire "dictatorial system of force" finally became unfinanceable, and it collapsed.
As a result, Eastern Europe today lives in peace, freedom and democracy.
#Ukraine doesn't want anything else.
❗️The parallels to the present are unmistakable: once again Russia needs help, this time from pariah states like Iran and North Korea, once again the specter of some nuclear threat is brought up, once again various commentators and politicians are falling for it (or deliberately joining in the scaremongering), and again the level of Russian military spending is approaching a dangerously high proportion of the total budget of a "dictatorial system of force".
The difference between the Cold War era and today:
Russia has never been as EXTREMELY inferior to NATO as it is today.
The Russian Air Force does not even have full air sovereignty over Ukraine, planes are repeatedly shot down, and all this despite the fact that the Russian Air Force is many times larger than the Ukrainian one.
NATO's air force, in turn, is MUCH larger than Russia's, so Putin knows how quickly NATO could (in case of a nuclear conflict) not just destroy missile launching pads, but also descend on Moscow and St. Petersburg and any other important city with tactical and strategic nuclear weapons.
Since Putin knows this, it is inevitably clear to him that he can only use the "nuclear threat" as a scare tactic, but NEVER as a real military option.
So.
Let's learn from history.
Let's not fall for propaganda and scare tactics. Let us pursue a policy of strength in the face of aggression so that freedom and democracy prevail again. Let's provide Ukraine with all the weapons it needs to EFFECTIVELY destroy the supply routes of this criminal war of pure aggression.
Because there is no war without supply routes.
THAT is exactly what leads to peace.

BP - 100 Days & Counting
In December 2023, legal letters were sent to BP and the Pension Fund Trustees regarding a dispute over BP's 1992 pension policy. Despite ample time, 100 days have now passed without a response. Does this silence breach BP's Code of Conduct?
Liz Truss can't be allowed to wreck our economy AGAIN. Agree there should be no tax cuts for the mega rich in next week's budget? Sign the petition https://t.co/9pPN7hS9H5
@bppensioner@bp_plc the answer is a resounding YES, the more pertinent question is WHY
✅ Is it because they are incompetent and irresponsible?
✅ Is it because the bp code of conduct is now discretionary for bp leaders?
✅ Is it because greed corrupts the soul?
